Was reading an interesting article about the 49ers investing in Leeds, and the dude set out their criteria for a successful investment/management of the club.
"Some of the ways in which you go about it are very different but the components themselves are the same, an engaged fanbase, a good stadium experience, social and digital concepts and monetisation, obviously quality players on the pitch and the management and the sporting side and investment that makes these teams really good"
I think he sums things up fairly well, and shows the same principles apply regardless of the leaguea team is in. We clearly fail on most if not all of these. The big one I miss is having a star player we can all get behind. A big turning point for Leeds was signing Pontus Janssen, a real Kevin Gray "hero type" player, same as a Reeves in days gone by.
I find myself getting more and more negative about the club, and worried it was maybe an age thing, but maybe proves the club is still an absolute shambles in terms of its offering.

Yeah, you're probably right, so why do we fail on every single one if everyone knows about them?
Must be honest, I was never a big believer of the fan experience, but clearly means a lot to those that matter.

Just to be clear, is the dude launching a rival bid to Sir Lapp, or is he looking to join the consortium?

Sir Lapp - would you be willing to work with the dude?

I think our main problem is that the present owners still think its the 1970s. :o

And we all know what Jenkins and Steve Patt think of fan engagement. :D

I thought I was watching Magic Roundabout-probably am.The guy is just stating the obvious and adding a bit of aspiration because without that, what is football?

Most successful business plans are simple-the club is no different to be frank.Without fans, there is nothing so surely it’s about getting the environment and team sorted as a priority.

Even Nixon’s Vixens gave the fans something to get behind before KO.Likewise easy catering and just getting in and out of the ground without hassle.

I remember the day when CUFC promised better communication:

Silence from Holdsworth.
Silence from Clibbens.
Silence from Jenkins.
CUSG meetings not taking questions.

Nothing changes!

If it is so easy, why are our lot so bad at it? I must admit, I never put fan engagement at the top of my list of priorities, but having read about so many clubs and having seen first hand at what feeling part of a club can mean (and how little is costs) I have been converted about how important it is.
What I find undefendable is the role of Clibbens generally, but typicall in the Pigeon shit debacle. How could any CEO (if that is what people claim he is - he is just a shield for the 3 amigos to me) allow this to happen?
He gets away with his ineptitude far too easy for me, probably because Laffy can't criticise him when the 3 amigos knicked his plan to appoint one (not having a go Laffy).
