That felt really tinpot to me. We haven't retired so many legend's numbers, why would we for him? It's great that he's doing so well but retiring numbers of players who leave us to achieve something doesn't exactly feel like a club who are looking up in the world.

I will hold my hand up I didn't think a great deal of Curle as a manager. in regards to getting a team up I don't think he's good enough.He is very capable for getting limited teams fighting a relegation battle as he has proved however the rotation policy was a bit of a joke the likes of Wyke and Devitt in and out of team I think he squandered money and some of his signings seemed panic signings

What really pisses me off most about all this is how the Premier League Clubs are trying to get young players from L1/2 for peanuts, money that should help small clubs like ours survive for a few more years. Yet they think nothing of spunking millions on bang average players from all over the world and millions on sacking managers after a couple of defeats.

If it is true that we're getting £1.5m (half in instalments) plus add-ons and a sell-on clause then I think that's a really good deal for all involved. As much as anything it's great to see one of our young players go on to a big Premier League club which is overshadowed by current ongoings. Best of luck to Jarrad. I'm looking forward to his last minute header for England against Germany in the 2026 World Cup final.

For a 17 year old playing in a poor team he has done amazingly well. The potential is obvious. He is under contract beyond the end of the season (I think) so that should add to his value. Let the bidding war commence.

Me too. I'm fed up of seeing the likes of Exeter, Peterborough and others get millions for their young players while our board think they are doing a great job by selling off ours for low 6 figure fees after hardly any games.

If clubs don't think he's worth millions now, keep him and develop him in the first team until someone does value him at that.

Of course I fully expect him to be sold in january for an undisclosed rumoured 250k after just a handful of appearances for us. It's what we do.

Having no Premier League academy training might be a plus I would think.

If I had a son who was a decent player I would advise him to get at least a couple of seasons at this level to get a good grounding in the rough and tumble of the game playing real football and not signing for one of the big clubs to get buried in their U23 side then most likely being ditched a few years down the line.
From the clubs point of view it would give them a chance of getting a much bigger fee and allow the club to benefit from their ability.

The club have been very lucky with these young players , two years ago Mcarron was playing for upperby, branthwaite for abbeytown and maybe only 3-5 years ago birch and Galloway were playing for Warwick wanderers . The club lost the best player they had to Newcastle but I’m not sure if we get any money from him ? Well at the moment it's all about opinions... my opinion is that you can't compare a 17 year old winger with a 17 year old centre half.

I see RB Leipzig are interested now as well. It must be an amazing feeling as a 17 year old lad from Wigton to have pretty much every top team in the country interested in you and others from across top leagues in Europe. Fees aside, what a choice for him to have - I can't think of many others who've attracted such high-profile interest while at the club. It's great for us as a club and for those in the youth set-up. Come here, work hard and get into the first team, and this is where you could end up.
