If you project opponents a fairly generous record of W 4 D 3 L 2 then you are in this region.
We need to win at least 5 of our remaining games , which in itself is unlikely.
Feels like after the next 3 games over the next 8 days, versus Scunny, Barrow and Newport, we can get ourselves back in it with two wins, building on our mini good run.
If we cant manage that , our goose is cooked.

One of those teams currently in there will have a bad run.
Think a decent set of results for us overall today..
Could be the likes of Morecambe or Forest Green that have a slump.
We are relying on other results of course but better position than we were in a week ago.

I would have definitely taken today's results if offered at 3pm today, in particular, Exeter and Leyton Orient dropping points from two very winnable home games against Mansfield and Walsall respectively.

Bradford, Salford and Orient are with us in the mix as well. Orient won 4 and drawn 1 in their last 5? Including beating us

Looking at tonights table I would suggest a win which is essential tomorrow will put us in strong position for play offs.

Forest Green seem to be in a bit of a slump, Exeter have struggled for a while.
I know we were rubbish against Orient, but they were worse considering they did beat us, (only real difference was an absolute howler from our keeper).
Thought results weren't to bad for us today, but would have been even better if Bolton had equalized at Newport.
See where we're at after tomorrow night, could be an interesting end to the season after all.

Scunthorpe and Barrow are poor so regardless of what their circumstances are we should be beating teams of this ilk if we have serious aspirations of promotion.

Problem is Munchy Barrow are scrapping for their lives which will always put on an extra 10% to their performance, we'll just have to wait and see if we can add that extra 10% ourselves. Mind you after saying that we really have to try and beat Scunny tomorrow night first.

Of the 10 matches today there were 6 draws and of the 4 wins, all the teams that won were lower down the table than the team that they beat.
When Carlisle beat a struggling side, it is often said on here that Noddy and Big Ears could have played a Toytown XI and beaten our opponents.

Yep, 5 points for a win against Barrow and we could make it.

Huge night for the league 2 playoff race tonight. We could finish the night in 7th place if we beat Newport (and Barrow and Bolton both win). If Scunthorpe could also get a result against Morecambe, our prospects would be even further improved.

Win and I would quite fancy us to make the play offs.
A draw wouldn't be a terrible result but hard to see us winning 4 out of 6.
Lose and I would pretty much forget it.
If we cant pull off a big win somewhere we deserve nowt.

Not to often I agree with you Wukkie lad but I think I'm going to here.
I kind of thought after Saturday that the curtain was about to fold on our season, the old demons once again unfolded, took an early lead, look strong for 15/20mins, then concede with the oppositions first attack, and then within a few short minutes we're behind. We do seem to have a very soft underbelly sometimes.
Added to this, 3 seriously difficult away games, Newport, Cheltenham, and Bolton and even the 4th is not exactly easy, 'Orient'. Then on Saturday were playing the form team of the moment, and with them having nothing to play for they'll be firing on all cylinders to keep their run going, (no nerves attached).
I really hope I'm wrong but I really can't see us pulling this one off this time.
