Gutted - really sad news

I did notice that he was absent from the board but just thought that because of the footie going downhill he had decided to have a break.

We did share similar views of the club and it is such a shame that he will not be around to grace the forum any longer.

Truly sorry to hear this news-as one of the regulars on this forum, he was one I always read with interest and he was a huge fan.

Didn't know Walter but seemed a decent fella on here and loved his away days by all accounts!

So sorry to read this. I was told last night but didn't connect his name with his moniker on here until I read this post.

His posts were worth reading and I shall miss him.

Very sad news indeed, wondered why he had not posted on here recently.
Although he posted on here for years it wasnt til we introduced ourselves in 2019 on an away day and we had a good crack and a twine lol.Then spoke on away days after that before the pandemic.A really nice fella.

I'm so sad to read this news.
As a newcomer to the club he was amongst the many people who have made me feel welcome.
I was in the Paddock with my daughter and he came over and introduced himself. "You must be newcarlislefan!"
I think he'd had a few ales.
We had a great chat and he told me all about his time working overseas and some of the associated stories.
We chatted most of the game and considering he didn't know me from Adam was so friendly.
I saw him a couple of times after that, the last of which was by the bus stop by the Beehive.
Really nice bloke.

We disagreed on coronavirus and the vaccine recently but we agreed on nearly everything regarding the football club.

This is terribly sad news.
I had many chat with him over a pint in bars at away grounds over the last 5 or 6 years
I hadn't seen him in the Beehive at home games for the last couple of years due to me refusing to attend anymore home games whilst this board of directors run the club.
We tended to agree on most things regarding the state of the club.
He was desperate for a change of ownership and never got to see it.

What a downer. Really sad to hear about this. We only met two years ago but spoke ever since at away matches when seeing each other. Needless to say he will be missed by all who knew him and folk who read the board will I'm sure miss his posts.

It’s good reading the tributes - he was a well liked man.

Again we had disagreements recently but we communicated by email a lot especially about the trusts ineptness and EWM, I’ll miss those.

Funny thing is, I didn’t actually know it was Walter that was emailing me and was having conservations with, I thought it was someone called Oswald who got my email when I put it on here once.

It wasn’t until the emails stopped recently and I checked the address it had a W at the start and I realised who it was.

I’ll really miss those - we had some great conversations/ideas over the years.

Such sad news and condolences to family and friends,never met you I don't think but enjoyed your company on here and you were a true blue
