Reading Chris Beech’s interview, it’s quite concerning that we’re struggling for places to train at the moment. The training pitch at BP is really heavy as it always is this time of year (gets like a soaked sponge if you’ve been on it in November/December time!) but the alternative training venues they usually use like Penrith and Harraby are all closed. The team trained at Aston Villa yesterday on the way down but sounds like we haven’t been able to do much other than that.

Not great considering if anything the training pitch will get worse not better over the coming weeks. I wonder if it’s about time the club look into sorting out a permanent training base for us as clearly the BP training pitch is only suitable for the summer months. They are professional players, they need to train during the week!

Surely training on a heavy pitch means its great when it comes to match day.

silloth pitch is rarely heavy, should ask to train there, then run up and down the sand dues.

That was a Steven Pressley method for creating his “fittest team in the league” that were all blowing out of their arses after half an hour on a Saturday.

Beech once again on radio cumbria saying about the training pitch.

Says the players could do warm ups on it but too bad to actually train on it. Other pitches all closed because of lockdown and COVID. Could only do 30 minutes on the stadium pitch this week as they don’t want to knacker it, but fortunately got a session in at Villa’s training ground yesterday.

This could become a big issue especially when the weather gets even worse and we’ve got clusters of home games .

I can see it now The Dean Henderson Training Ground named after the bloke who basically paid for it even though he's never played for us.
