Rhys Bennett released. Watched their game on Saturday and he wasnโ€™t very good, to blame for the only goal.

Morecambe:

Iโ€™ve seen a fair bit of Morecambe this season due to work. Leigh would be an excellent addition at LWB but probably too good for L2 and will have offers from higher up. Diagouraga would be quality in midfield next to Guy but he lives in Harrogate so likely will go there if they want him. Ayungaโ€™s been transfer listed, cracking strong, quick winger.

Hasn't really worked out terribly well for Bennett since leaving us has it? 2 clubs then released.

Personally would not touch him with a barge pole.

David Davis (Not the Political figure) would be a good about fit for the system , although feel he might be outside our budget and he also seems to be Midlands based.

re: Shrewsbury

29 year-old central defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell has some pedigree. His release certainly shocked a few Shrews fans.
He was fined and banned from driving for a month recently after speeding through roadworks on the M6 - obviously keen to get to training before everyone else ;)

We should never discount getting players from Newcastle, Middlesbrough or Sunderland as we have done in the past.

Connor Malley will be a free agent this summer having been released by Boro along with several other youngsters. Has been on loan alongside Charters at Gateshead most recently. Worth a look at again?

Think any success there depends on our boss' relationship with anyone of influence at those clubs...
As long as Shola the Amoeba is in charge of loans we'll never get another player off the barcodes.

It's two years too late but Wes Hoolahan would have been great...

Chris Porter anyone? 6 goals 4 assists in a terrible Crewe side aged 38. Been there done it, been linked with us before. Could be a good experienced target man to link up with Patrick, possibly a bit of an upgrade on Dennis.

Would take Dennis over Porter every day of the week. The last half dozen times Iโ€™ve seen him play heโ€™s been horrendous, about as mobile as an unfit Simon Jeffels.

Why's that? To do with that striker we had on loan?

Relationship with Newcastle isnโ€™t great after we (quite rightly) blocked them poaching a local youngster.

Among many things they've taken the hump with over the years.
Elias Sorensen has pretty much proven us right though, hardly plays, hardly scores for Esbjerg in Denmark's 2nd division...not exactly the Premier League 1st team fringe player The Amoeba was claiming...
Just further proof for me that historically at least that club are a bunch of morons, maybe with regime change the attitude toward us may improve too since it would be in their interests too.
