TBF to Claire, I'd resign just before having to go and watch one of Curle's training sessions, and associated waffle afterwards...

I don't see any wrong doing by any club employee. The programme notes are one of the most effective 'old school' ways for Claire to get her views across. I would imagine anyone pondering applying for the role's next term will now have had their mind made up. It's a shame that the top brass at the club insist on ruining literally everything that has the potential to be positive.

I agree with you on something Mouldy ;)

Your dead right in that the fans rep role could be something fantastic. Its used at other clubs really well and with a more community based owners would of been great, I also believed Claire would of flourished in those circumstances. Surely though now Mouldy you'd agree that the position is redundant therefore the club will continue with it in its current form it needs to be a position of protest. Its the only way otherwise you will be shot down as soon as you go against the grain.

But you see the problem there Mullen, anybody who would protest will not be allowed to even enter the race. If, by some chance, someone got through and then started using it as a protest position they'd be removed right away.

I'm not doubting you and your correct. But don't forget theres some outside influence on the vote, for example Colman gets a vote so will see whats on the applications.
The winner will get the most votes therefore the fans rep and can do whatever they want. If the club doesn't like it tough.

I think Claire has jumped a little too early she should have used her N AND S article to goad them into sacking her

But now that she has lets be hearing all the juicy bits from the last year on here blog as soon as possible

If the club doesn't like it the fans rep will be increasing sidelined and completely stifled. They'll be given no access to anything and will be told nothing. In short they will be unable to carry out the role and will be forced to resign.

Not sure I agree the role needs to be used as a protest role, Mullen. If we are serious about change, the person in the role needs to be aware that they are going to meet closed doors. But with a sensible and professional approach, there will be some progress. I think the views towards Claire improved when she outed them for what they'd said in the programme notes - which perhaps isn't an obvious breach of any confidentiality agreement, but in hindsight, perhaps Claire could have guessed something like this would happen. Fair play to her for her efforts on that though.

I do agree that it has now been expressed by the club that the role is not anything of value to the boys at the top and that it's almost gimmicky. So yes, I agree the role now is redundant. It's a real shame because there are a good number of fans out there who could bring a lot to the role.

I think we're in a catch 22 situation now. Say the fans boycott the position - the club say "nobody wanted it so stop whining".
Say people apply and want to report back to the fans - the club say "You've breached confidentiality clauses".

Everybody saw this as a possible outcome - even I did - I was just hoping the club would take it seriously. So, BOD - Get behind the club you c!nts and stop hindering it from moving on from this god awful period of ownership.

Thing is Moorlad, whoever gets it can't carry out the role anyway - as to what has happened to Claire.

NO ONE who is totally independent and carry out this position as you'll get burn't.

Cos this thread really needed more of your crack about how you don't like the manager!

This was obviously going to be a total waste of time from the start, and anyone with even the smallest bit of integrity would end up leaving. Fair play to her for having a go, and for adding another page to the book of evidence proving Jenkins et al are clueless, selfish buffoons.

Another name to add to the 'not worthy' pile

-David Allen,me,Robin Brown,Graham Mossop,Norman Steel,now Claire.

All with the best interests of the Club and fans but not good enough for the bunker-most of us successful in business and professionally qualified. Also full of ideas and energy.

This latest shocker despite the shocking performance on and off the pitch in the last few years.

Claire-I applaud you for your honesty and integrity.

I don't think that's the case at all, dozens of people had a go at me for saying I was not voting exactly for those reasons. At the time there weren't all that many people who agreed with what I had to say.

Having said that I am in complete agreement with what you had to say at the top of your post, about Claire.

So anyone who is honest and wants change/the best for the club then!

@Mouldy As Laffy has proved here, by the names listed, those that are willing to help the club and go about it in the correct and professional way get burnt and publically ridiculed by them. Therefore whoever has the fans rep, baring in mind they are 100% independent of the club, won't get anyway by acting professional and sensibly especially as those at the top act anything but it!

Well done Claire, you got stick from the start because the role was fixed by me (joke). All the abuse you got would be enough to resign but you kept going and did the role professionally to the end! When people do not embrace change they do the same things and get the same results! I for one see th effort you but in and tried your best but once your professionalism is question then you were right to resign. You didn't break any confidentiality agreements and they shoot themselves in the foot for publishing your notes.

I doubt very much whether this has come from Jenkins, it smacks completely of John Nixon.

The programme should and in previous years has been proof read, once for Spelling and then again for content, usually the MD or someone on the BOD would do this.

Clearly JN has an issue with Claire, I would speculate she has been asking questions that make him uncomfortable and this was a way to push her aside - I would not be surprised if he was aware of the programme notes before they went to print and this play was planned long in advance.

I'm afraid I am not surprised by all of this and its a shame a true fan who had the best intentions has been a victim of the poisonous politics currently being played at the club.

Mass protest on Saturday... everybody turn up in hi-viz 'fan rep' vest and a purple hat and give abuse to Jenkins & Nixon.

Edit: fair play to Claire for giving it a go. Probably lasted 6 months longer than the rest of us would have.

I don't think this was a JN plot at all. I don't think that the three morons thought about this for long either. They just got together before a meeting, had a chat and gave Claire one across the bows, without thinking much at all. Their problem is that they don't have any respect for an individual (see Laffy's significant post above) and won't have anticipated Claire's ultimate action. Why? because they simply don't care. They don't care so they don't think. And because they don't care they won't be worried by Claire's resignation. All this will do is to make them think twice before signing off the final list of applicants the next time around. They will make sure that the list contains only yes men and women and once someone is elected they will continue with the status quo. That's why voting is pointless and, actually, a low turnout would be an indication that the fanbase aren't signed up the FansRep position at all.

What we need is a stealth candidate; a signed-up Company man and fan on the outside but a double-agent, passing information through a number of routes until well-informed rumours start from sources that can't be linked back to him/her. Anyone up for it?

I'm joking, aren't I?

Better to go down a hero, than to see yourself become the villain. Fair play Claire, it takes guts to admit that the position isn't what you signed up for, and that you couldn't change their ways. Will be very interesting to see who they bring in now.

Just when you think they can't mess up any more they shoot themselves in the foot once again. They had a lady who was working for nothing doing them a favour putting in a lot of hours only to be humiliated for her efforts.
I felt exactly the same after I tried to help in the past.

I hope nobody applies. It would send a message.

I agree to some extent Moorlad but disagree on others.

It was up to Claire to define the position. In my opinion until recently i felt it was turned into a free customer service role rather than a fans rep, representing the club rather than the supporters. Don't forget Claire was more than happy to go to the photo shoots and talk to the press etc.

Its been proven though that it hasn't worked. I have applied seriously this year whether i make the final 4 will remain to be seen but i certainly won't be anyones mug and would take the position in a different direction as it now should be a protest position rather than as you say something for the owners to hide behind. I'd say anyone that wants to use the position as some sort of protest to apply as i'm sure you'd get the vote of those outside the club this time!

You'd be a total waste of space.

I think we need to know officially who it was that started the conversation at the meeting on Friday and accused CW of breaking the confidentiality agreement.

It doesn't need Sherlock Holmes to know its one of either JN or AJ. And we all know that JN has past form for silencing ;)

Don't hold your breath, we don't need to know anything at all about anything.

A fans rep should represent the fans not the board. Especially this board. Given the club for a £ each while they still mismanage us into oblivion. Yet again with this they have shown their true colours. You have to also question what the Trust is foing as they are supposed to represent the fans. How much longer ate tje fams going to have to put up with this board and their lack of transparency? Who is the Billionaire and if there isn't one what is the reasoning behind your perjury.... the fans need to start agitating for the current board to address the fans concerns while we still have a football team to suppport!

IMO it was always going to be a poisoned chalice.

It just makes the hierarchy at the club look even more stupid, if that's possible.

Is he the one who posted on twitter that hed renewed his season ticket and Andy Hall retweeted it ?

Behaviour Modification Required was my immediate first thought when i saw it either that or a good slap to teach him the error of his ways.

100% correct regarding the trust but reading Norman steels statement following Claires resignation I don't think I've read a more spineless piece of shit since his last foray on club matters.

If you want a in it for himself don't rock the boat leader Norman steels your man.

The position created was always going to be a futile one anyways. I couldn't believe anyone thought they would actually get answers about the running of the club from it and it would be better if no one applied this year thus sending a message to the Horseman that fans can see right through them.

Glad I didn't vote on it last year.

If Norman Steele is supposed to represent CUOSC on the board why do we even need a fans rep in Claire's role?

Well done Claire. Hopefully you'll read this. I said some things against you at the start but my opinion changed once I saw those programme notes and now I totally take back anything I said. I was wrong and I apologise. You've shown those f*cking dinosaurs up for exactly what they are.

For people who are saying that it would be a failure if the same happened to the next fans rep: you're wrong. If it happens twice in a row then it'd go even further to show that John Nixon and Andrew Jenkins really are an impossible pair of c*nts.
Last Edit: 26 Apr 2025 18:28 by loser.
