TOPIC: CUFC Trialist

I turn up to our usual Carlisle Futsal Club training session last night and see the usual group working hard and then I notice a new face. I ask our gaffer Chiarella who he is. Turns out he is an 18 year old currently on trial at Carlisle United. The trialist had walked up to Chiarella in Tesco when he spotted him in his Carlisle Futsal kit and asked if he could come and join in our session! He had played against Boro the other day in the 2-2 friendly for United.

Bloody nice kid, he said he will be down to support us on Sunday at the Sands centre when we take on Birmignham. BTW you can buy tickets to watch that here, big event! . Plug.

Was he any good?

Brilliant 1v1 ability. Obviously couldnt get him involved properly as he was looking after himself given he is on trial.

Refreshing to have someone so open and keen to play football, no big time charlie about him despite the clubs he had been at. The type that loves the game, was asking how late he could stay and play until....this was at 10.30pm! Great guy.

Did you get a name?

Its that famous Scottish player Trialist. Prolific.

Any chance of us signing this Chiarella fella? Because that is a very, very cool name.

I did ask his name but after the 3rd time of asking I gave up couldn't understand what he was saying and just said I would call him Dave. He was foreign lad.

Francesco Chiarella is a cool name and hes an even cooler character. A massive coup having him as our head coach. The best in the country.
