Seems strange that an Italian club was the target of our investor. Is Pirelli an Italian company?

Surely we could find out who the billionaire is by a bit of an investigation if his identity was blown in this alleged takeover in Italy.

I think he probably does exist and probably did pull out of a deal to buy a Italin club. I also think he has absolutely no idea hes supposed to be investing in Carlisle United.

That's going to be so funny when Mullen sniffs out his identity and catches up with him outside a church in Naples or somewhere.

I would say anybody can throw as many spanners as they want, there is not a chance any of them will hit the billionaire because he doesn't exist.

What if? Well for a start I'll eat Griff's hat. But there is no billionaire.

Yes there's land at Pirelli, and an enabled stadium there would suit me fine from the point of view of travel, however it isn't really a possibility, because there is no billionaire.

Nixon's connection there might have been important if Pirelli was a decent sized British company, it's Italian though, and I doubt if Nixon has very much influence at all, particularly since he doesn't work there anymore. Besides there is no billionaire.

Shaldon1, it's plainly obvious that you either have some kind of connection to AJ/JN or you're just a massive wind-up merchant. Here's a selection of your previous posts:

"I can guarantee it will not be your last visit to Carlisle United. It may be your last visit to BP but the Billionaire will probably find you a new venue"

"The fact that Lord Clark is one of the three with the knowledge of the Billionaire says it all for me.Be patient and the time will come for the deal to be announced"

"You must put faith in the board of directors. There is no guarantee they will get it the way you want it but they have to look after their money not yours so be patient."

"Manager contract cannot be done until Billionaire is in place. Sensible business decision."

"I still think the management have this right for the future."

"I am sorry if I have misled supporters but the Billionaire does exsist. I have complete faith in AJ and TJ in that respect.Support the team and management and let AJ and TN solve the long term problem which they will.Meantime look forward to a reasonably successful season."

"Put faith in the management if you want a future"

"The past two weeks has given hope for the playing side. Curle is beginning to get it right. The management have had a play in this success story. Wait until the Billionaire arrives."

"Supporters must be patient. I have now doubt he exsists. The first thing to be considered is that any billionaire taking over would be looking to build a new stadium. The research that takes is very time consuming. Many people have to be consulted in confidence.Again very time consuming."

"The problem is being addressed by talking to a Billionaire."

"Nixon and Jenkins should be congratulated for doing what they have for our club."

Give it a rest with your silly little rumours eh.

I don't think he's deluded, I think he really needs help. There are loads of them known to most of us normal people as happy clappers. Unfortunately they are a product of the government's failed Care in the Community scheme. These people are in serious need of support, and people like the members of our board mercilessly exploit their good nature, which is caused by their appalling mental illness.

Happy clappers can be cured, but only with our help in making them see the truth.

Yes, well it's strange that Pattison's still hanging around the place like a bad smell when we were assured we'd finally seen the back of him.

Lot of strange things happen at this club, mucker.

Billionaires don't invest. They buy outright. Because they can. Especially a potentially nice little non-league club like ours.

And then they boot out the old farts and put in their own management so they know that someone with a brain is looking after their property.

You just get funnier and funnier.

I appreciate all your comments but I can assure you that I am not winding up anyone. I firmly believe that the club is in good hands for the future. I do not think the supporters think that but that does not mean the supporters are correct. The people at the helm are business people of very long standing. These are not people that want to depart with blemishes, they are people that want the best for the club.I think the club has a future and we should be thankfull that we are where we are.The staff at the club are excellent and I think as supporters we should be grateful for the input of the people in control. We are doing well in the game so please be patient and support the club and management in the short term. The billionaire will appear but when he does you will have to decide do we want him.

The only report I could find where a chinese investor was said to be sticking some money and then pulled out was with regard to ac milan, and has the following issues
1) the chinese guy denied he was investing
2) didn't seem to be that bothered about being named
3) ac milan are 7 times european champions and we are 4th division ex-jpt winners, it's not exactly like for like

Shaldon1 from your last post i reckon that either you are one of the 3 amigos, related to them or totally deluded. The best thing AJ & JN can do for our club is leave as soon as possible and take SPwith them.
Their reputation is well and truly tarnished with all the bullsh1t about a mysterious billionaire who after almost 4 months has made no direct contact.
If such a person really existed he would have concluded a deal within a few weeks at the most. The amount of money involved even if he was buying the club not investing in it would be loose change to him.

If I was selling the club I would have wanted to see the person buying it well before 4months were up. If only to see if he was the right sort of person to take it forward. Never mind chatting endlessly to one of his lackies let's talk face to face.

It goes without saying the billionaire is spending a holiday with elvis and lord Lucan on the moon on the back of the double decker bus.

For me it really is a major source of worry that there are people with whom I have anything in common, even just a football team, who can possibly still believe any of this shit. I can almost sort of understand how some people might have been fooled when they first heard it, because you want that sort of thing for your team. Wealth and success etc. But it really was so obvious right from the start they were making it up.

The trouble is so many of these happy clappers have bought right into this and allowed the wool to be pulled over their eyes. I seriously struggle to imagine how some of these people get through life if they actualy believe every stupid thing that's thrown at them. "I've had this dress for ages", "the cheque's in the post", "a billionaire wants to invest in the club".

Are these idiots actually going to believe that the talks have legitimately broken down when Nixon comes out and says so? I actually think they will, despite all the posts on here and all the stuff in the paper and on BBCRC, I actually believe there are hundreds of idiotic happy clappers who are prepared to accept anything that comes out of Nixon's mouth. I am actually feeling sorry for them, because this is actually going to be a big let down for them. While for most of us, it will just be a relief to get the whole thing over with, those lunatics are going to be devastated.

Yea, it sayeth in the book of Shal-Don,

1. There shall come a prophet of the messiah who shall have no honour in his own land and shall be mocked by those without eyes to see and ears to listen

2. And he shall preach the coming of the messiah, saying unto them, "wait just a little longer, for he approacheth".

3. " Honest, he should have been here by now. He hath probably stopped on the road to converse with Godot, for whom there are those who also wait".

4. But the crowd listened not, and mocked him further.

If you were a billionaire why would you invest in Carlisle United ? How would you expect to see any profit unless he/she bankrolled us to the premier league, which you would then expect the billionaire to buy us outright.

I just can't see how anybody could believe a billionaire would even remotely find us an attractive proposition, unless they had some big ties to Carlisle. Added to the fact there is unfortunately many clubs with more potential and infrastructure to invest in or takeover.

If we are expected to believe this then whoever introduced the billionaire to us must go down as the greatest salesman / bullshit artist that has ever lived.

It's also funny they wanted Laffy and co to jump through hoops because they are great custodians who only want the best for the club, yet some faceless billionaire can take all the time he wants.

In a weird way I wish we never got the money from the player sales and the Liverpool game just to see what bullshit they would have come up with.

Nixon should have sent the billionaire packing by now for wasting the clubs time - he cannot though as even if they did ever exist because folk would then give momentum to the Lapping takeover and this is the last thing that Nixon wants as he would have nowhere left to run this time, conveniently he currently has a mystery billionaire to hide behind.

I am grateful that there are some who are prepared to champion the contrary point of view, and as a fellow fan I respect your right to hold your opinion. I profoundly disagree with this however and i feel that 'the custodians' have 'got lucky'. They have been able to raise money through the sale of Potts and Dempsey and given that Curle has the ability to put together a squad with spirit and motivation has assisted them.

I just believe they have conducted their business in a MORALLY crooked manner and have behaved like knaves and scoundrals with regards to their dealings with Andrew Lapping. I DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR BILLIONAIRE STORY and as such i won't return to Brunton park whilst this is an outstanding issue. Sadly when the next down turn in our clubs fortunes occur can we be sure that the club will survie?

Answer me this Shaldon

AJ is in his twilight years and has said he is not prepared to carry on supporting with cash in any event.

What happens on AJ's demise? He is owed a lot of money and the Club has insufficient liquidity to repay it.Going forwards, who steps into his shoes? The current shareholders-I doubt it.

This was the whole point of my involvement-to deleverage the Club from AJ,provide succession and widen the ownership structure. The rest of the restructure was stating the obvious-implement changes to make the Club an investable proposition with no black hole.

To date, despite many of the ideas being taken on board, most from fans who suggested them to me,the big issues involving succession are still unresolved.

Andrew

That's my worry as well. What happens when AJ goes retires whatever what do we do then?

It's well known his sons want nothing to do with it so whose going to put the money in when things go wrong and don't go to budget.

Pattisons skint and Nixons no money man so we are buggered. We aren't going to be lucky every season drawing a Liverpool to help us break even.

Businesses are currently dissalosioned by us and we've lost a good man in Robin Briwn.

It's ok AJ saying the clubs in good hands and he won't see any harm come to it which is maybe correct although I think he's doing an awful job. What happens when he's no longer here.

At a wild guess Mullen, a certain Mr A would be delighted to pick up the club at a very reasonable price after administration. Which is why he wrecked Andrew's plans in the first place, because it would have put the club beyond his reach in the foreseeable future.

Correct badger that's how I understand it as well.

It's all hyperthetical But what would make KA more favourable to the administrators then say a lapping consortium if the worst happened and admin happened. Don't understand why KA is so adamant he's get the club if it did go in admin as he's said previous times before.

The restructure provided a controlled succession without charging around looking for short term cash.

Debt always controls equity-hence the Club is totally under the theoretical control of AJ until he is paid out or the debt written off/converted.AJ does have the Club in his blood which has no doubt saved the Club on many occasions but he's not immortal.

I don't think AJ is your real problem. The cancer at the club is Nixon, and to a lesser extent, Pattison. I won't be back until of all of them are gone.

I'm not a one for insulting/ talking ill of people behind their backs but I completely agree Nixon is a cancer at our club , the times I seen him round the club and the way he treated certain people was disgusting. If he thinks you are below him he will simply ignore you and anything you have to say, I can only think he's always been like that. Just look at the way he treats the local press, and the way he conducted himself with Laffy, without being insulting Laffy I firmly believe he thought he could get one over on you it was nothing short of a disgrace how he treated you especially since he claims he is an old fashioned businessman who believes in " gentleman agreements " yet he couldn't even tell you in person the deal was off. I think he probably knew even when the club slandered your good name you perhaps wouldn't do anything that would hurt the club as you are a true fan unlike Nixon. At the same time he's a pretty intelligent man in some ways. I firmly believe he has sucked every last thing he can from Carlisle United to benefit himself. Can anyone name one selfless act he has committed in order to benefit the club ?

I don't hold any disdain towards AJ as I really believe he does love Carlisle United but it would be foolish to say he has not been guided by complete and utter fools at times. He has put money into the club, maybe some of it through fault of his own but never the less he stumped up the cash. I just don't think he can go against his mate John Nixon which I can see reasons for but I'm not going to speculate about personal things in regards to AJ on here.

Surely KA would not pass a fit and proper person test if by some disaster he had a chance of control.

In my opinion which may hold little weight had Laffy and his associates got control of the club it would have been a fans club with exciting times ahead, with fan engagement at all levels a club we all felt we were part of. A lot of people don't feel part of this current club, they feel apart of the kind of club we have previously had and should currently have.

Rant over

Laffy, stop reminding us of what we should've had until them [censored] robbed us of a future. It's just another kick in the b0llocks. :(

I have met him several times, and not always at BP. That character assessment is spot on, Waterworks. At best he is an arrogant snob. Appears to be under the impression that his excrement has no discernible aroma. Mine definitely has, so we never got on :)

Unfortunately so does mine. At least it's not just me who took him that way.

I am most surprised by the reactions on this thread. AJ and JN I will swear on the bible I have never met and would not know them and neither am I related.

However they are businessmen with wide experience and track record in business. Football today is probably one of the most difficult businesess to be involved in. The current board have done a tremendous job in keeping a small time operation alive.

The team is progressing thankfully and I am very happy with that. You cannot expect to be in the championship just like that. It is a long term project.

The money Pioneer have made from United is nothing compared to what has been put in .These people on the board have the future of Carlisle United firmly in there thoughts and should be thanked for their efforts.
A win at Liverpool would be fantastic but unrealistic and what a great situation that we are there at all. Surely that is progress. Not one single person on this site seems to give any praise to our manager Keith Curle. Do you think the results to date are AN ACCIDENT. I think not, this man should be appreciated in a very big way.

It's ironic that you find a win at Liverpool unrealistic, but believe the billionaire exists and wants to invest/takeover

When the billionaire doesn't want to invest and Jenkins has to deliver his name as promised, eventually someone will get some information down the line and if the interest was merely a couple of emails exchanged then the egg on their faces for derailing the Lapping plan will make their positions untenable.
