Busy putting welcome packs (inc. membership cards) together at the moment CCU, you'll have something within the next few weeks.

Busy next few weeks for the trust Deano.

Any news about whether they've issued any sort of ultimatum about the diluting of their shareholding if the "billionaire's" name isn't revealed?

CUOSC members are 'CUFC Members' same as Flexi Ticket holders.

See this is where I feel the whole process was almost crowbarred in...

By announcing well after Season Tickets had gone on sale, the situation was instantly created whereby a opt-in/out was needed, and as such folk didn't become members until the end of August (A good couple of months into CUOSC's calendar year). The knock on was nobody knew what take up would be - Of roughly 1500 Season Tickets, most won't even have looked at the paperwork, let alone return at their own expense an opt-in/out form. So you now have a situation where its taken the best part of a month since the cutoff before any welcome pack has been made up (And as Deano says, could be a few weeks before they actually land). If they land into October, that's already the fourth month of the Trust year before a rake of new members get so much as a welcome!

Come next Summer, any of this years new Members have to pay the £10 themselves (Club has paid this year out own pocket). Most folk will simply say 'sod that, didn't see anything last season' and the Membership will likely take a huge nosedive, potentially to the levels it was this summer before the enrolment was announced! Which will make the entire excercise fairly pointless?

If they'd announced it from next Summer, like some of us suggested at the time, they'd have had this whole season to concentrate on their rebranding, pushing on with the role they should be doing, and the cutoff could've been August 1st and all joining Season Tickets could've had instant welcome packs, tied in with high profile events based around the start of a season.

The recently created Fans Rep could've been branded in amongst it, even the Football Liaison role, and folk would've taken far more interest.

Well of course there's no pressure being put on, they're shit scared of Nixon. The seat on the Holding Company board hasn't been sorted yet and they don't want to be jeopardising that position of (empty) power and the chance for somebody to get their face in the paper, just to be able to prove the other owners are taking everyone for fools.

For what it's worth, I've been working my arse off on this. All welcome packs are going out at the end of this week, Thursday onwards.

Membership cards were received last week. I've worked as quickly as I possibly could since then getting them into the welcome packs - had to be sorted first to make the labelling up of envelopes as easy of possible.

We've also had to print/arrange over 30,000 printouts! That sort of thing takes time - especially when you consider that people have full time jobs too. Hopefully when you receive them Thursday/Friday/Saturday (depending on whether yours is being posted/hand delivered), you'll appreciate a bit more why it's taken the time it has. As I've said on previous occasions, we've had delays from the club that were out of our control, and then 3 weeks waiting for the cards to be printed.

Could some of the admin staff at the club not have helped? After all, the trust is the second biggest shareholder, and is supposed to be represented on both boards of directors.

You know the answer Moorlad.

If Nixon and Jenkins are not going to let the trust onto the holding board, there is no chance of letting them use the admin staff.

Another 4 hours spent this evening - I do work full time too, and have a young family

I should point out too that it's not just me doing all this by the way - there are other members of CUOSC who have put an incredible amount of effort in with this. As I say, over 30,000 print outs that then need to be sorted, and arranged into nearly 1500 welcome packs.

Looks like a complete waste of time and money to me. I really do admire the work your doing Deano but if i got one of them through the door id have a brief look at it then stick it in the paper bin. Not that it would ever happen as if i had a season ticket id have opted out.

Cheaper yes, slightly quicker yes, slightly easier, yes - still have to get membership cards through to the 1500 somehow though, so that would need to be done anyway.

In future, yes. We have a permanent fixture in place now for use by CUOSC going forward - it needs some work done to it first! That'll help with distributing things to members as we'll have a point where members know they'll be able to meet us to collect things like this, or just have a general chat on match days.

I still think for this first welcome pack, it looks far better, and will have much greater impact being sent out in it's current form. There are members who won't use a computer/the internet, and by putting it online only, you're limiting who you reach out to. As we develop, and you see this with other organisations too, I'd like to offer members a preference - online, hard copy, large font etc.

Having seen your picture above Deano, I have to say you've done a hell of a job, and one I wouldn't have wanted to have to do, so congratulations on that.

It's good to know you're getting some sort of presence at the club, much as I dislike the people in charge of the trust and what they have done (or failed to do) in the past, I think there is potential, if the right changes are made, for the trust to be a force for good. Is there not a worry that some supporters will see the trust as part of the club now though? Particularly in view of the seeming lack of opposition to the dinosaurs. I'd also like to know when there will be a trust appointment to the Holding Company board. The trust own more shares than either Nixon or Pattison and need to have some sort of say in how things are run.

That is certainly my perception of the Trust. You are doing some great work with the packs Deano but ultimately if fans don't see the Trust asking the correct questions about ownership etc. they won't have any credibility. For me this smacks of the owners nullifying the threat of the Trust by bringing them in-house and offering them the pretence that positive change is happening. Looks like the BOD have been reading "The Art of War" to me.

They can read?

"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer". I read The Art Of War (admittedly ages ago) and remember looking for that very quote because I'd seen it in The Godfather and somebody told me where it was from. I couldn't find it in the book at all, and to be honest ("know your enemy like you know yourself" I found) I didn't want to read it twice, not the most riveting thing I ever read.

Could one of you pass on my details and ask him to contact me, and I'll sort it out with the club, unless they want to contact the club directly?

The club gave us names of approx 10 who had opted out, and their contact/personal details were not passed onto us, therefore if they have opted out, the club have made an error.
