TOPIC: Three challenges for Newport

1) For the fans How many will come after the heroics at Liverpool?
2) For the team. Newport haven`t won all season, we are unbeaten in ten at home. The old Carlisle would have made this an away banker. Teams on a poor run used to search their fixture list hoping that the Carlisle game was coming soon. If we win this one I will believe we have a good chance of play-offs at least this season
3) For my fellow boarders I have often been lost in admiration at the incredible memories and detailed recall many of you have about matches long ago. Who scored the last hattrick, how many watched Everton away, who exactly was Mincher etc. Well how many examples can you produce of Carlisle`s generosity to teams in similar positions to Newport?

Seriously expected this to be a 'Challenge Anneka' type thread...

I think that a few of the non frequent supporters who were able to attend last night will come through the gates over the course of the season. It was a good display, with a bit of excitement chucked in for good measure.

I'm not expecting us to have hundreds extra as a result of it, but small gains are a start.

I just hope the lads arent absolutely knackered after last night. I expect more changes than usual

Hopefully, a professional performance with no cup hangover, do the job and just be in control. That to me would say that finally we have a squad we can trust not to buckle. Be nice to have a clean sheet too, but I'm more bothered about 3 points.

Newport may see this as an opportunity. We've had 120 minutes of football against faster than normal opposition only on Wednesday. If they've got anything about them, there'll have a real go at us from the off.

I think it will have been more mentally taxing than anything on wednesday. I don't even think they will be that tired, Asamoah played 60 mins and jabo roughly the same so they should both be ok. Maybe McQueen, Hery and Joyce will be a little jaded but we have the squad to replace them. The defence held their shape they weren't really chasing liverpools strikers all over the place.
