Carlisle teams of the past 5 or 6 years would all get beat in the Newport game after a result like last night (not that those Carlisle teams would have managed that last night).

But Keith knows what he's doing, momentum with is, hopefully a few more fans and an absolute trouncing which has been on the cards for a few weeks now...

4-0 blues

Hard to say after all the midweek excitement the team could be on a high or it could pan out to be an "after the lord mayors show" performance.
Think KC will have them up for it though

2-0 to the Blues

A late finish on a Weds isn't ideal prep for a potential banana skin game. Can see Butcher having his team physical early to rough up tired limbs...

Big game for us. In recent times we've failed to follow up on big games and good performances...Yeah I know there's not been many but!
It's a big test to see how far we've come now.

It maybe worth while to see if the squad rotation will work in our favor for this game. Newport have made two loan signings but if we can get on top quickly their heads could drop.

I'd love to see us keep a clean sheet!

3-0 BLUES Jabo, Balanta & Rigg

The players who played the 120 minutes will mostly be fit and ready for Saturday. So will those who only played 64 minutes before substitution and those who played 56 minutes as subs. We have plenty of players in reserve to cover for any absences. 4-0 Carlisle.

A couple will be given a rest, I would think.

Think the competition for places makes me more confident we can kick on, despite the obvious concerns about fatigue and being a bit flat.

Most complain about the changes curle makes from week to week but looking at the squad i dont see any players there that i feel couldn't step up to the challenge,

Would like to see gilliead play off Ibehre

Think we'll see a bit of squad rotation for this one. Good thing is, looking at who we could bring from.the list not used on Wednesday: Troy, Atkinson (fit now, I think), CMW (I know, won't be used) Balanta, Osei, Rigg; and if they can play to their potential Thompson and Brough; it doesn't make for sorry reading

Less than the number of supporters at Anfield.

Granted we played an extra 30 mins but playing Wednesday Saturday is no different to playing Saturday Tuesday.

I'm right though B)

Be nearly midnight by time they left Ground, they need to warm down, refuel, the adrenalin will have been sky high, doubt there was much kip on bus? Home for 2/3am which is well into recovery time on the Thursday...

It's why a lot of teams in Europe now stay over the night after a game, do a light session then fly home early afternoon, to aid recovery etc. In years gone by they'd have jumped straight to airport and got home daft o'clock...

In years gone by the only refueling they'd be doing was a few pints after the game.

Newport have 2 points, they have conceded 15 only two less than us. Scored only 5.Think they have lost a few games by the odd goal but their confidence must be very low.

Going for 4-1

First home match I'm missing since Cambridge beat us 0-1.

I fear after Wednesday nights efforts we may give Newport the boost they need.

Carlisle 1-2 Newport
