TOPIC: Player Ratings - Leyton Orient

Couldn't see anyone else posting this - apologies if they have already.

An entertaining game. Leyton Orient look a good side and Cox was one of their stand out players. Carlisle worked hard and tried to play their passing game. It's still work in progress and IMO we need to move the ball forward quicker (not hoof it forward but play into midfield to work it to the wings or through the middle), with players looking to exploit space in the opposition half when we have the ball. Sadly, too often players are looking to pass the ball to a player without looking up to see what's on. This results in us passing the ball around the back and brining the opposition on to us. However, we took our chances well and defended doggedly.

Gillespie - 7 Another confident performance. Their goal was a powerful header and he didn't have much chance.
Miller - 7 I think he gets better each performance. His only weakness is that he doesn't take anyone on when in a forward position.
Raynes - 8.5 He was my Man of the Match imperious in defence. Another Danny Livesey brave and strong.
Gillesphey - 6.5 Is getting there. A young lad who is really developing - let's hope we can keep him longer.
Grainger - 6.5 Played wing-back and worked hard tracking back and bombing forward.
McQueen - 6 Works hard and was a real handful for Orient later in the game when we needed pressure taken off the defenders. Doesn't have the physic to defend but given the right ball going forward......
Joyce - 7 He battles all the game. Yes, he loses some but wins or gets his foot, head, body to most balls to break-up the opposition.
Dicker - 7 Great ball through to Asamoah for the first and played a part in the second. Not his best performance but Orient closed us down well and it meant we had little space to play the ball at times.
Kennedy - 6 Works hard but seemed a bit off his game at times. He didn't seem to know who he was meant to close down when we lost the ball. However, he made a couple of really useful runs into the opposition box at times.
Sweeney - 6.5 Sweens seems to have got into the grove. Worked hard supporting Asamoah and the midfield when defending. He took his goal well.
Asamoah - 7 Worked hard and was frustrated with balls played to his feet (that's not his game). Once the lads were knocking the ball either over the top or through the defence for him to run on to he was electric. Great goal.

Subs:
Atkinson - N/A Not on long enough
TAH - N/A Not on long enough
Gilliead - 6 Added some pace upfront. A useful player to start with or from the bench.

Phillips and Murray on the radio were saying he looked knackered 90% of the time and he didn't have the pace to deal with their winger and get forward for us so I'm not sure about your bombing forward crack baggers.

We picked their pockets and rubbed their cockney noses in it! We could have been five down when Derek scored. Curle getting involved in handbags on the touchline seemed to spur us on.

McQueen 7 speed merchant
Miller 6 took time to get into stride
Raynes 9 very often on his own to fend off the Alamo
Gillesphey 7 looks at home
Grainger 6 quiet game but didn't do much wrong
Joyce 6 up against it all night
Dicker 7 passing not usual quality until he set up Derek
Sweeney 7 bombed around, great finish for goal
Kennedy 5, looked lost
Asamoah 7 took goal well, ran himself into ground

Mush, I think James and Paul were being a bit harsh as Danny G was having to cover ground that Kennedy wasn't covering. Kennedy couldn't work out who was his man and left Grainger to do his work of closing down players.
