Suspensions are automatically imposed for accumulating 5, 10, or 15 cautions in a season. There are cut-off dates for receiving a sanction as a result of accumulated cautions. They are:

5 Yellows - 30th Nov
10 Yellows - 2nd Sunday in March
15 Yellows - End of Season

So if they haven't received 5 yellows by 30th Nov, they won't receive a suspension once they do get to 5, but if they reach 10 by 2nd Sunday in March, they will get suspended at that point.
