TOPIC: HELP (Serious)

Morning all, was hoping someone on here could help me who is good with computers and that sort of thing.

A few year ago someone set up a parody twitter account for me, only they did not put parody or display it was not the real me so to speak. I have reported it numerous times but nothing seems to be done.

It has become a problem as people have tried to contact me at important times through that regarding work and opportunities, when I see them I know nothing about it.

Now its not offensive or anything and I was laughing at it myself when it started, its just now its becoming a problem as when you google my name its top of the search engine.


If anyone knows how to go about this, or even if you know the lad, could you have a word if he can disable it or wipe it or whatever twitter users do!

Think you would just have to set up your own account and ask for it to be verified.
Not ideal if you are not a twitter fan, but you could tweet on it to say this is really me but I do not use twitter, the end.
I think a few public figures have done for the same reason.

Just log in every now and again, to check if folk are trying to get hold of you re.work.

Just don't want to be on Twitter at all really.

He has not said its a parody which is what you are meant to state so I'll see if they take it down but not holding my breath.

You should be able to report the account, but dont know if you can do this if you dont have an account. If you cant im sure if most of us boarders with accounts try it they should listen.

If it is the one i have it hasnt been used since 2012 so it shouldnt be too difficult to get it taken down if they take you seriously.

As said above though the best way to do this is set up your own twitter account, but only tweet that you dont use it and are contactable through other areas, emails etc.

The most obvious one of these is Sean Locks which he set up to stop imposters, and he 93,000 followers with 2 tweets so theres hope for you yet Lummy!!

Ha ha ha you dont have to worry about that. There was choice language but not C word i'm told, i was summing up after the game and didnt even see Andrew until it had been said but James's face told me something had "gone off".

The fact that he's going round swearing at people is the issue here,the letter that the word began with is a technicality....

And that's why I said "I don't think". James didn't seem to think it had been but to be honest we had people speaking in our ears from the studio, the crowd noise and I was talking.

If James had said he said it, I would still want to hear it first before agreeing he did, not go on hear say.

No probs, cheers for that. Sounds like he's said one thing (and clearly sworn) otherwise James wouldn't have apologised, but others have accused him of saying something else, and it's very quickly escalated.

Aye, could tell by James face that something inappropriate had been said, just a simple apology would have gone a long way, we all get carried away.
