Great news. Gilliead in particular looks impressive.

When I saw gilliead at York I expected him to stay a month or 2 max and then move higher like Tom Lawrence did. To get them for the whole season is great news for us.

Makes such a massive difference, having a couple of young lads on loan from a Premier League club who are getting games and feel like they're adding to the team, rather than the dross we've had over the last few years who are just there for the sake of it.

Gillesphy has impressed me as well, Morecambe game apart of course. Looks composed and solid at the back. Gillead is probably the better prospect but i feel Gillesphy could turn out to be a very important player for us.

Also how good is it to see them tied down for the whole season? None of these 1/2 month loan deals that we have had to put up woth not knowing whats gong to happen from one game to the next. We have them all season now and they are basically our players who obviously want to be here.

Must have been some very good negotiation from our side of things. Brilliant prospects, I'd have thought just until Christmas would have been great. Brilliant news.

Gilliead looks like a good signing and a necessary one with Hery and Osei, the two players I expect him to be competing with, both struggling to impress so far. Gillesphey's an interesting one though, especially after his horror show against Morecambe. With Meppen Walter almost certainly out the picture and Grainger looking likely to player left wing back from now on, we still have 4 capable centre halfs at the club competing for 3 places. Do we really need Gillesphey? I wonder how Atkinson feels about this, he hasn't figured since returning from injury and Gillesphey arriving.

Are these the same capable centre backs that have conceded the most goals in the league and would have been even more if it wasn't for Gillespie?

Atkinson at centre half & Miller at wingback? Then we need Gillesphey.

Gillesphey is left-sided where as Atkinson is right-sided. Appreciate he could probably play left if needed but suspect that Curle would rather keep them on their "correct" sides.

Do you think our goals against is solely down to our centre halfs then? Is the system, the lack of cover from midfield and the lack of defensive support down the flanks not factors? Which of the 4 centre halfs mentioned ( Raynes, Troy, Miller, Atkinson ) would you class as incapable?

Sorry I missed Morecambe - stats don't lie though - the defence as a whole which I agree includes the whole team is not capable.
