Food and service very good and was good to see the young lad get MOM-Dick Young did a really good bit about his performance.Reminded Dick of Peter Beardsley's first match at BP which I was at too.High praise indeed.

Every now and then you see a young player at BP who has something else and this boy is one of them in my opinion.

You sound like Jenkins OldCarliol - you older lot who lick his backside need to remember that he is not our ruler but a sad old man who has squandered cash after cash trying to be the big I am and all it has got us is in a debt that he will not let anyone pay off because it will mean he will have to relinquish power.

All we want is fresh input, sod the money Jenkins wastes season after season to 'save us', he could live to be 108 and waste all his money on Carlisle United and we would still be ran like shite because he is still at the helm with all his little hangers on.

You are missing the point with respect.

The only reason for deleveraging the club from AJ was to bring in new money by introducing a collective responsibility amongst the Trust,fans and the local business community.I could have covered the whole £1.25m myself but why would I want to do that?That would just have moved the problem from AJ to me.Im well off but I'm not a tycoon.

I have no desire to own a majority stake in the football club as it's rarely good for the wallet.It would not in my opinion be good for the Club either to be reliant on one person's bank account.The evidence is there for all to see with AJ's undoubted generosity over the last few years.

The new money was intended to provide reserves as the Club moved from a position of benevolence to a more self sustaining model-that transition has started of course through the appointment of PK and some of his initiatives but will take time.

With a clean balance sheet,new share structure,a self sustaining P&L; and some fresh management and ideas,the Club would be an investable proposition for more new money should the Club's directors decide to make a push for greater aspiration-something I think most fans want.Likewise,improvements to BP or a new stadium.

Being the best you can be is what the football league promotion and relegation system is all about.I just happen to think that the route for our Club was collective ownership rather than a reliance on one person.

If your takeover had been successful and we got promoted this season to league 1, would you have given Keith a decent budget to compete in league 1 ?

Forgot to add, I understand you will probably say the revenues / bank balance would have to have been looked at and that would have determined the playing budget, so let's say you had 500k set aside for new players and Keith had asked for a larger budget, would that have been something that the new board would of been willing to discuss ?

I appreciate this is all hypothetical and there isn't a answer you can give with 100% certainty just looking for a general answer.

All hypothetical but success is all about momentum in my view.Look at what happened when we got back into the league with Fred-runaway train

The thing that worries me is that we seem to be just going from season to season like paycheque to paycheque.

With no long term plan, organisation or anything.

Thankfully this season we have a very competitive team for this league. We may even get promoted, which isn't out of the question.

But what happens next. if we got promoted how would we compete again in league 1 with no great finance. if we don't we will likely be back to square 1 with a new manager as Curle will likely get picked up.

What worried me about AL`s plan was that the monies raised by the business consortium he`d got together was that that money was to go into "reserves" - no money was being made available to strengthen the squad - even with loanees there`s wages to pay. All we would have needed to be strugging with present and existing overheads, would be another season like last year.
Last year we had no progression in the cups to provide extra income, and falling gates due to poor onfield results.- wages of staff and players still to pay and day to day running costs eg travelling expenses/ hotel bills - all to find. From where ??

With a better ran, more professional club comes interest and with interest comes revenue. At present fans, sponsors, investors, businesses see an amateurish organisation which they have little interest of being involved with. A more dynamic, forward thinking, professional outlook would bring all these people back and all these people would be willing to spend money. All very simple really but unfortunately beyond the intelligence of our current hierarchy.
