Sounds like James Phillips cant wait for a Northampton goal so he can claim he pointed out early how poor we are playing and how the passing out doesn't work

Missing chances when unable to defend will result in defeat more often than not.

I'm guessing four at the back has been abandoned after it's successful trial at the weekend?

Unbelieveable!

Curle doesn't seem to learn, what we did right on Saturday should have been caried forward to tonight. Or is that too simple?

We were murdered second half at Plymouth with 3 at the back and the wide open spaces down the wings.

ffs

Prior to which our winning streak was?

People have every right to criticise. Praise where it's due, criticism where necessary. Why revert to three at the back? We've kept two clean sheets all season, one of which happened to come in the one game we fielded a flat back four.

Another three goals conceded. There is a problem that needs dealing with.

Ah well looks like the inconsistency has returned..desperate for a good run but the chopping and changing isnt helping things in my view.. shame really after a very bright start to the game, maybe should have put game out of sight...bet let them.back into it... Frustrating defeat tonight.. :-(

On Saturday we had a very good performance from Atkinson and Troy drafted in for the injured Raynes with Miller & Grainger at full back, we didn't concede a goal so why change it when it aint broken. Beats me.

Been as well keeping the young lad from Newcastle on the bench and playing a 4 man midfield.

Up front Wyke or Asamoah? You could make a case for either to partner young Gillead.

On course to concede 82 goals in the league this season - how many would it be without our keeper and some people think we have 3 capable centre backs!

Just back. Nightmare journey.

It was a back 4, well at least until the last 20. Gillesphey & Miller the full backs, Troy and Atkinson centre backs. Grainger was playing as a left winger with Gilliead on the right.

Troy was poor, looks like he's lost all ability to pass the ball to a team mate. Dicker is miles better with Joyce beside him, he's not mobile enough to play that defensive midfield role by himself. Adams was having a field day finding space in that area.

Poor performance second half, but we were comfortable first half without being spectacular and had the better chances, Asamoah was causing a lot of problems. Could have been out of sight really before they equalised.. Their first goal looked a foul on MG, their second was a fluke, their third was shocking from our point of view.

Goals directly either side of half-time are a killer at any level, they clearly went in buzzing and came out alike and we went in gutted about our missed chances and never got started.

Main positive for me is Charlie Wyke getting himself on the scoresheet, he was absolutely ineffective on Saturday and desperately needed something to boost his confidence.
It's worth noting I wasn't there last night, but the absence of Michael Raynes may have been a major factor? Asamoah is usually deadly in front of goal, so disappointing to hear of a couple of missed chances.

Wycombe let down my bet last night, by all accounts they were ordinary, lets hope we can make the most of that - everyone else does when we're on a bad run!

Bit of an over-reaction on here, first half was playing out like game at Orient, soak up pressure for first 20 minutes then control possession, created some good stuff and should've been up by a couple. Game turned on the first goal, one of the worst refereeing decisions I've seen, the lowlight of a shocking ref performance. Seemed to knock the lads out of their rhythm at the start of the second half where we started off cold and went 2-1 down to the deflection. Didn't have a great view of the 3rd, but the marking didn't seem great.

The corner for the 3rd goal came from a dreadful ball by Troy, who was easily the biggest negative of the night. Couldn't pass a driving test if he was Lewis Hamilton last night. Hasn't looked up to it with the ball this season. Gillesphey and Atkinson weren't brilliant with the ball either, and Dicker wasn't up to the usual standard without Joyce alongside him. Our passing as a whole wasn't as good as it's been, but we still created good chances. Northampton didn't seem likely to break us down apart from the lucky breaks, we just would've had to have played a lot better to get a result against that ref.

Don't want to solely blame the ref for last night, as if we had taken our chances, we should have tanked them. But all night they were pushing our players in the back, and he gave nothing. They were taking on some occasions, an extra 10 yards with their throw ins, and Tom Miller tried taking an extra 5 yards on one in the first half, and he got pulled back. As others have said, their first goal was a definite foul, their second, a horrible deflection, and the third was a result of us chasing the game trying to get an equaliser. Hard to blame Curle, I think the lineup was the best he could put out in the circumstances, and its not as if Curle himself was allowed to run on the pitch and put one of our many good chances away.

At the end of the day our players are not good enough to go out and give excellent performances every game and waltz away comfortably with the 3 points. Thats the fact for all teams in this division i would say.

Because of that, and i hope im not sounding like Curle here, you have to hope that the players are doing the right things and hope that they are showing improvement and will come good more often, and I believe we are and we will.

We lost a game football, it happens, there were 2 teams out there last night who wanted to win, and they came out on top. Doubt Exeter launched a full blown investigation cause they lost 1 away game!

For what it matters, we had 3 good chances to be easily up before they scored their 1st, Asamoah should have had a couple really (just like against newport/morecombe) which shows why he is at league 2.

Dont think it was a foul on MK, seemed to get lost under the ball but didnt get a lot all night really, 2 goals either side of half time kicked them on and deserved the win in the end. Disappointing but it happens, key now to get the 3 points on saturday and this will be forgotten about
