Using the words "we", " were" and "us" when referring to Carlisle.
Still love the man.

One of the best that man. Remember i once went down to Boston with Geoff Tomlinson and a couple others Deano came over for crack with us outside the chippy. Sounded a really nice fella.

I know a couple of lads who work for him at his academy down here in Lincoln, apparently he always talks about his days at Carlisle.

By all accounts a top bloke.

He must be one of the most dangerous players we've had when we've had a corner, you almost got the feeling we we're guaranteed a goal especially the year we went up from L2 first time around but for all that I'll never forget that backpass which Caig sliced in against Fulham.

At the start of the programme just after 6.00 he was talking to JP and saying Carlisle's always the first result he looks for and it was far and away the best time of his career. That team had a great togetherness and was arguably the best time to be a Carlisle fan in the last 30 years.

Mick Wadsworth was a very clever man who carefully constructed a squad based on signing only what he needed rather then the "throw enough mud at the wall 'approach of some of his successors. You really get the impression they were a bunch of mates off the pitch who enjoyed playing for each other and it showed.
We've arguably had better teams since but we've never had a side with so much character in it. Same side nearly every week, each player with a real personality. I used to get there at 2 o clock just to watch them warm up! Growing up in that era the choice for "favourite player" was endless. Mine was always Darren, but Deano was a close second.

To get Fans player of the year in the 94/95 season says something about the kind of player he was

You can't blame Deano for that, it was a really soft back pass, Caig could easily have trapped it. Instead he took a wild swing as if to emphasise why he was a goalkeeper.

That was a great season to be a Carlisle fan. Deano and Mountfield solid at the back, Reevsie up front, Currie and Thomas for a bit of flair. We haven't had a left back as good as Gallimore since. Every time we got a corner up came Walling, and the chant from the Warwick, "Deano, Deano!". You just felt he was always going to get his head on it and put in in the net.

We were unstoppable. At one point, briefly, we were 18 points clear at the top of the division. We kicked everyone's arse. Won it by 9 points in the end.

That was under Knighton, BTW. Jenkins has yet to put a season like that on his CV, in how many years?

Nobody can argue that Knighton did a terrific job with the club in his first 3/4 years in charge, just a shame it was all part of his master plan to build it up and strip it bare. However what he did in his initial spell, transforming it from the mess Jenkins left it in into a club that everyone was interested in, everyone wanted to be involved with and everyone was proud of, shouldn't be forgotten. The best time I've ever had as a Carlisle fan.

I wasn't blaming Deano Badger although passing back to Caig in the first place knowing he couldn't control a football was akin to playing Russian roulette.
