After that it was a freak show, they scored 4 from about 6 goal attempts - our defence was as weak as piss around that time, but has since improved greatly. Bit of difference between traveling to Liverpool and traveling to Plymouth!

I was hoping for an away trip but somewhere north of Birmingham, a non League ground I hadn't been to would have been my choice as I've been to all the League grounds in this round (except Barnet's new one but going there anyway).

Plymouth is an expensive day away , doing it once a season (and getting the money back) was fine. Doing it twice is a nightmare.

Not if you get it paid for mind! How anyone could go to Plymouth on a bus is beyond me in all honesty, it's probably more convenient mind for people to do that on a Saturday than midweek. Should probably be regionalised till the third round, similar could happen ten years on the trot to a Club like Carlisle, Hartlepool, Morecambe etc, does nobody any good financially really.

Was only about 40 quid for the bus wasn't it? Far dearer days out for some fans but guess if you want to travel by train you have to pay the extra for it and Plymouth is a no chance on a train, Barnet away would have been over 100 quid day return I expect by train if left this late - don't give folk much time to plan do they.

Have a soft spot for Plymouth since the Jimmy Glass game - and also they were the opposition up here when the "Knighton Out" folk marched around the ground. Their fans joined in IIRC...

Our Distance Derbies of extreme dislike are Barnet, Stevenage and Wycombe.

The last trip down there was the one that skybet paid everyone's travel and tickets, can't see that happening again. I'm lucky I don't have to buy a ticket but for fans you're talking £60 to go on bus and ticket before you start on things like food. Driving down would cost a bit even with a full car. A lot to find just before Christmas.

I love the fact you can be drawn anywhere in the country in the FA cup, it's part of what makes it special but I can see good arguments for splitting at least the first round to north and south.

Hard to sort out anything cheaper when you get less than 12 days to sort something out. Obviously be far more people up for going somewhere with a quarter of the journey time and half the transport price if it was a "northern" tie.

Sometimes the bus trip is the best bit of the day, I quite enjoy them, rarely bored. I'm lucky that I have made friends on the bus over the years and never have any problem talking to folk even if I've never met them before.

Its also a chance to read, I take a kindle fire, so can go on the net as well. A chance to chat and even a chance to catch up on sleep. A 6 hour trip is fine, but beyond that it does turn into hard work and does cut in to your weekend space.

Going on the bus works well for me because I can process photos on the way home rather than do them at the stadium before driving back. The train is rarely an option because of all the gear I take, much easier on the bus where you get dropped off at the stadium.

Our luck and our performances at Plymouth have got to change sometime, I've never seen us win at Plymouth and I've seen us play there many times.

Our first half performance was really good earlier in the season followed by just about the poorest, weakest effort - or lack of - that I've ever seen in 60 years of following the Cumbrians.in the second half!

It was a bit like watching Hery's pathetic effort at keeping the ball out of our net on Saturday, woeful!

So, let's be positive, we have to win in Plymouth sometime, law of averages.

One possibility is flying from Newcastle with Flybe to Exeter on the Friday and returning on the Sunday. Exeter to Plymouth is an hour on the train and maybe 30 minutes by bus from Exeter Airport to the station.
