Not sure Ho much a 3rd target man would offer us right now. He did live there. Keith Curle also lives a couple of doors away.
But as Moylesy says, Grant and his family moved back to Norwich a few weeks back.
He is starting to get a lot of media work for BT Sport, and a few months back, he also narrowly missed out on a seat on the couch on the Sunday morning football show on Sky. He sees his future being in media work so living in Norwich puts him a lot closer to London for TV studios etc.
He also gets asked to do a lot of appearance work for Norwich City, and stuff on the local BBC radio station there, so the move made sense.
Also, he will never have to buy a drink in Norwich as he is a living legend there.
If ever we were going to sign him, it was the time a few months ago when him and Curle were neighbours, and knew each other, and Holt was coming back from his knee injury and he was looking for match fitness.
There was the speculation of course, with Curle wanting him to prove his fitness etc.
Even with how well our strikers are doing, I think signing Grant Holt would have been the 'Michael Bridges type signing' that would have given us the extra quality that would cement our position in the promotion places.
But now he lives further away than ever, so I really can't see it happening now or ever.

With the wages he'll be on at Wigan I'm sure he'll be able to afford to rent somewhere there during the week.

He also owns a few bits of property in Nottingham, so could use that as a stopping off point between the two.

You'd expect Wigan will want to offload him again quickly, as they signed him with the intention of getting back into the Prem, so agreed quite a decent pay package for him, this may now push them over the L1 FFP rules.

Though as he'll be 35 before the end of this season perhaps he's planning on making this one his last ?
