Getting near winter and the windows need replacing.

Can anyone give me any advice please on any recommendations and more importantly who to avoid.

Wooden windows or uPVC?

We had old wooden windows which were falling to bits, been in 20 years. Bit the bullet a year ago and got them replaced with uPVC by CountryStyle windows, based at Low Hesket. Got a quote from Finesse in Carlisle at same time, but they wanted nearly a grand more. We visited both showrooms and couldn't see any difference in quality, to be honest.

Their lads turned up on time, did it all in a day, and tidied up after themselves. By the time they'd finished, apart from new windows, you'd never know they'd been. I would recommend them.

I know, I've seen the factory at Finesse. They obviously have more overheads to cover because of that. But to be honest, we've had these ones in a year, they look good, they are solid, they keep the weather out, the handles aren't falling off like our old ones. I'm happy with every part of the service we got.

Not that Window World couldn't offer an equally fine service, and quality of product. :cheer:
