TOPIC: Yeovil's first goal my observations

Get Raynes to wear lace up boots with studs instead of slippers.
Gillespie is getting blocked off by their player which is happening legally in my opinion as their player is entitled to stand next to our keeper and isn't obliged to move out of the way. Others may see this as impeding or obstruction but it doesn't matter as many referees will agree with me and allow it so it needs to be dealt with as it isn't the first time it's happened as Gillespie doesn't have the physical presence of a huge keeper to get round the "blocking" player.
On this occasion it was Wyke stood next to the blocking player having no effect. Get him goalside of the blocker using his shoulder to "encourage" the blocker away from Gillespie as the corner is taken to create a space for Gillespie.
I can't tell from the highlights if it's Kennedy or Ellis who should be marking the goal scorer as it looks like Ellis to start with who stops for Kennedy to take over and ends up with neither challenging. I should point out that Dicker is covering the space infront of the post so Curle must tearing his hair out that it was 2 onto 1 with Ellis and Kennedy and their player got the free header to score.

I'll leave the second goal for KC to sort out as it looked like a well worked goal from Yeovil to me! It did start from a weak clearance/pass from Dicker but they still had plenty to do from there.

That seems a very fair assessment, Walwyn. It looked to me at the time from the paddock side that Dicker, as first man, should have done better and at least jumped to challenge for the header. Again I thought it was Dicker with a weak clearance on the left which gives the ball away for the second. That is why I gave him a slightly lower rating than Kennedy, who was my MOTM.

It's all just opinion anyway and I find it enjoyable to read others views when they are posted in a friendly way. I often think when reading posts 'oh, yes, I'd forgotten about that, that's right'.

Anyway, I think both Kennedy and Dicker are starting to show some of the ability we saw at the end of last season which helped us to survive. Maybe not quite up to that level yet but getting there.

Yes my reaction at the time stood in the Warwick was that it was Dicker that got beat to the header but watching the highlights it just goes over him and it clearly wasn't his job to mark the goal scorer.

Wonder if Kennedy having probably his best game this season had anything to do with Joyce not playing.
Maybe allowed him to play the way he did last season.
