TheCumbrians @CarlisleFanRep We've gone with a simple design this time round, it's the size that will give the impact rather than the design. #plain

TheCumbrians @DanCUFC Well...it's actually 46ft / 14m. Just under twice the width of a goal.

TheCumbrians @DanCUFC Unfortunately reasons out of @CUOSC control. Cheers for feedback though, will pass it on. Think it's good that KC is on-board too.
TheCumbrians @MrHettrick I'll come back to you on that!! Plans have been scuppered, so was considering a few days away in the Bath/Bristol area instead
TheCumbrians @DanCUFC @CUOSC of the current setup with Holdings etc. Other than that, any other opinions of the pack itself. All feedback welcomed.
TheCumbrians @DanCUFC @CUOSC Good spot Dan - definitely just a typo. Most will realise what was meant, and those that don't probably aren't fully aware

Was in there before the game on Sat and just wanted to see peoples opinion on the refurb....
Décor seemed decent and there seemed to be much more space, definitely changed their approach from old style traditional pub to more modern and hipster.
Also changed their approach to drinks on offer too, more Ales and expensive Largers... Prices to match the London.

Decent stop and always good to go in before the matches, yet to see the food on offer.

Same as a lot of places are going now, they have just been taken over by Green King too which may be reason behind the change.

I worked there for a while, food was normally fairly decent. Standard pub fair with a lot being frozen or microwaved.

The white tiling behind the bar wouldn't look out of place in a public toilet.

Given a popular local boozer the 'industrial chic' treatment, in anticipation of punters being impressed, prices predictably up. Cosmetic cack, lacks individuality, like every pub in every city, underwhelmed.

Is it pretty similar to the newly done The Griffin now?

It's a popular local pub, but it's been run by a chain for years, so everytime it's been renovated it'll have looked like just about every other pub in their chain that they wanted to have that look.

I think people have complained everytime it's been done out, but still use it. The prices will in all likelihood come down if people aren't willing to pay them.

Don't like the prices. And they've took Carling off. Won't be returning for them reasons, either Lloyds or rugby club for me

Is the shop in Whitehaven still in business? Happy memories of buying matchbox cars and the cylinders sending cash around the shop!

My biggest gripe with the Beehive is the crap Greene King beer they now have to sell. Limits the choice of real ale to one pump. Greene King claim to brew real ale but its just mass produced p1ss.

Agree totally about the greene king beer. However they did have an Eden beer on which was quite good.

Quite liked the look of the refurbishment and it definitely gives people a bit more space. Taking out the tall tables and big round seating allows more people to get a table.
