The conservatives arnt even proper tories anymore its like blairs back in power again loads of nodding dogs ill hold my hands up and say i do have slightly right wing views on a lot of things but i think personally the cuts in policing and nhs disgust me especially when your consider how many billions we have blown in iraq lybia afganistan nd now possiblly syria bombing people we will never deafeat by force .

To be fair they all do it. Billy Hague voted in favour of health care reforms then campaigned against hospital cuts locally and then claimed expenses for doing so!

Likewise my old MP David Lammy frequently campaigns against the proliferation of betting shops on high streets yet he voted in favour of deregulating the gambling industry when Labour were in power.

I'm not fan of Stevenson's politics but on this occasion I'm not sure what else he could have done. Deifying a 3 line whip in abstaining is fairly serious and won't have won him any favour with the party hierarchy.

Both the Labour and Tory Parties are in favour of continued British military action in the Middle East. A soldier (all be it American) was asked on reddit to describe what he was doing in Iraq. So when you are out delivering circulars and birthday cards your taxes go to fund that because there are British soldiers there as well. A good use of your money when Cumbria Fire Services are being cut? And who is taking the piss?
