Interesting to read that Plymouth wanted to take him on loan but couldn't afford him.

The fact bury ar first weren't allowing him to get cup tied, suggests that we may be signing him permanently in January, or at least on a season loan. Why else would they change their mind?

I like him. He's got that physical presence that we lack without Ibehre.

He's obviously no Joe Garner, but he does have some of his qualities. He's a battler and he's niggly, just what you need.

Hope had not been expected to play for Carlisle in the FA Cup tie under the terms of his loan deal but when they put in their teamsheet his name was on it.

Adams said: "I believe they paid his wages for the game. I believe that was the reason why he was allowed to play.

"He was a target for me recently because of the injuries we have had. We couldn't afford to take him in – that's the problem."

Adams said they couldn't afford to take him in. That just might mean that he has a large well paid squad and couldn't reduce his numbers so had no room for him budget wise. That's different to saying the lads on loads of money.
