Probably worst time they could've picked for travelling fans, aside from Noon the same day!

Even the Mon Night KO is more accessible!

Sounds like we will be a featured game ie. have a reporter live at the game and extended highlights - if action warrants - on the highlights show. It means that Welling will receive £10-12k, not sure what CUFC will get. Sadly, it doesn't take into account travelling Blues fans living outside of the South-East. Another example of TV being more important to the FA Cup than supporters.

@wellingunited: Announcement on the official site at 1:00pm with confirmation of a date and time for the Welling United vs Carlisle United FA tie.

As has already been said, probably the worst one of all three options for us. Cant do it on the train from Carlisle on a Sunday, first one gets into Euston at 14:25. Would probably have been a push to get back on the Saturday on the train to be fair.

Probably a good chance of there being a live online stream on the sunday afternoon.

Poor on behalf of CUFC, however not unexpected. No thought for those wishing to travel from Cumbria to the game. Looks like they have snapped their hands off for the cash. I asked the fan rep yesterday on Twitter whether she'd be consulted by the club - she didn't know anything about it.

Be nice of the club to put a few quid of their 10-12k towards buses for inconvenienced supporters. THEY COULD have turned it down tho.

To be fair we possibly didn't have much choice. FA United were forced to move their 1st round game to accommodate the telly.

Could the club have turned it down? I'm not sure how these things work. I would assume they don't have much choice?

Know for an absolute fact that Barnsley turned down this pathetic Sunday slot in Round 1.

Didn't do them any favours like.

I'm fairly certain the club can still turn it down. Hopefully find out for definite at weekend. Lot of money to turn down tho, hopefully be put towards transport for our loyal fans and the rest can be used towards the constant f*** up's our custodians make.

FC United refused to change the time of their game in the last qualifying round.. it's one of the reasons why many think they were picked for the Monday slot in the 1st round (which they also refused but were told they had no choice).

I can't remember if it was just kick-off time or whether they refused to move to a Sunday.

Looking through the articles it's interesting the FA has a minumum price of admission for a (Emirates) FA Cup match, but no maximum price. It tells you all you need to know about the custodians of the national game. I'm sure some of the custodians at Carlisle would fit right in there.

So if ours has been selected for extended highlights, it won't be a 'single-camera game' so that to me would suggest the FA could force us to play at this time.

Is it worth asking Claire if she can ask the club about the possibility of a football special train seeing as she has connections with the club and virgin trains?

Claire as fan rep could you propose that the club lays on a couple of buses free for fans wanting to travel.

Do the Krispy Cake Gang still run buses to every away game?

They run at least one bus, can't see it being more than one for this match, but the one to Plymouth was full so you never know.

We have 2 buses running to Welling.

Morning, nothing to do with management, hasn't been discussed with them and don't think it would be really anywhere down the line. Curle could have an opinion what he would rather do but don't think it would change much. Happened a few times in my career in FA cup,it's very much decided at board level and a lot to go through.

Have a safe journey today anyone heading down, hopefully come away with something which I feel would be a good result or brilliant result.

That's a lame excuse to say they don't want to set a precedent.

A contribution to the dedicated fans who are travelling probably longer distances this season than any fan has ever done would have been seen as a generous gesture from the club. Especially as the game is a 2 pm ko on a Sunday over 300 miles away!

It wouldn't have cost them that much in the grand scheme of things.

If say Nixon, Pattinson and Steele paid their own way for the weekend (God forbid) for a change that would probably pay for a bus.

As the comments above. If it was 3pm on a Saturday then wouldn't expect anything, fact it's moved to a 2pm Sunday and we are receiving a payment for this would be a reason to provide this option and wouldn't set a precedent for the future but show fans that they are valued. Even if it could be subsidised, or maybe entrance fee paid for. I suppose the issue then is on what basis would people be entitled to it?

How much does it cost to screen it themselves? Used to do it a fair bit some Clubs.

I thought it would've been a great opportunity for the club to say thank you to travelling fans & a really positive gesture. There was the reduction in ticket prices made recently for the Crawley match so that's something to keep in mind. I'm still irritated that Salford are on the TV again.

Lummy - this board member wasn't consulted so as I've said not sure how/why the decision was made to accept the KO or who made it, KC has been consulted over other fixtures so just a guess that he may have been.

Can't really understand why the club should pay towards away travel ffs you'll be wanting them to pay your taxi fare from pub tobrunton Park next!!!

I think the fact there isn't a viable rail option for fans is a decent reason to change kick off times. After all it is the fans club not the three blind mices'

Travelling fans are the lowest of the low in the eyes of every club and the fa. At nearly every ground they get the worst seats or facilities and they really don't care when our where it is as they make no money from it.
Today was a classic example.

So the fans pay to travel, pay to go in, so they can pay the travel of the away team to come to the match. In the end though its the fans choice, many will go and enjoy the day, and think it value for money. Some will put their money to other things and say sod it, such is life.

I do feel it is a shame that the club cannot grasp the idea that reaching out to fans with a small gsture may actually pay dividends in the longer term, rather than constantly driving wedges between club and fans.

For example how much would it cost to set up a live stream at Brunton Park, invite fans to watch the match, provide food, make an afternoon of it! Ok it might cost £500 for the live feed but surely those sort of gestures are what's needed to try and reach out to disenfranchised fans.
