Since everyone else is posting topics about all other players, I thought I would give a mention to the "forgotten " man. There was a thread earlier in the season saying Troy should play when fit or sat and sat etc etc. Nowadays he never appears in anyone's team for sat. Times up I think

Still think he's our best player and defender. Just a shame he has the long standing injury which I reckon is the only reason he isn't playing in League 1 pushing Championship. Although think someone once mentioned he actually only missed 5/6 games through injury last season the other missed games were suspension etc shame anyways but he'll be on a fair wedge i'd say so if Curle can spend the money elsewhere with good reason i'm inclined to believe him after our superb start this year.

I've always thought he should play whenever he can. When he's fit he's immense at this level. IMHO Troy playing every other game is still better than him not playing at all.

The argument against this always seems to be "but we need to build a stable defensive partnership". Which would be a valid argument if we were keeping one clean sheet after another, however......

Can't say I agree with this at all this season. He was good (but not ourtstanding) when he played last year, which meant that he played whenever he could.

This season he looks immobile and doesn't command the defence anywhere near as much as he used to, meaning that he's not worth playing even when he's fit.

Not sure when he has been "Immense" since returning permanently to us. been below average for me, much better and more mobile options.

He was by far our best defender last season, but not anymore. I last saw him play at Northampton and he was poor by his standards. He doesn't even look good on the ball anymore which is strange, maybe it's a confidence thing.

Even though our defence isn't great this season, the likes of Atkinson are miles ahead of Troy at the moment.
