And Deano.

Nobody else really bothered. Claire was happy to talk to anybody and actually put up with me for over half an hour.

A no-show reveals a lack of confidence in Claire.

Her cosy teacher 'one to one' approach is an embarrassment as has been shown.

At least her tenure will provide a blueprint to the next bod of how not to do it.

Heh heh who'd have thought it.

The key board warriors who spend most of their time slagging the poor lass off if stuff isn't posted within an hour of a meeting and blaming the world and their wife for the club's ills, can't be arsed to meet her to discuss the issues they so obviously feel passionately enough about to post on the message board.

Or is it actually because when it's time to show up or shut up they haven't got it in them???

Well I must admit I've been slightly critical of the role but not sure I'm in the keyboard warrior category. I didn't realise this meeting was actually taking place but even if I did I'm not sure if I would have attended anyway. I do have other commitments and don't usually get to the east stand car park til about 14.45. Excuse reason or scared to meet someone in the flesh I'll leave for others to speculate

I was going to go with the lad that I take but haven't been well and never made the match yesterday.

Was disappointed as well the number of people critising and the small numbers in the chat on Thursday.

There's some things I think Claire's doing really well there's some things I feel she is really terrible at but communicate it to her and she will answer you.

Isn`t it a case of people being willing to post their opinions/questions anonymously to keep adding fuel to the dissatisfied camp, just coz it sounds good . The same old stuff keeps being repeated..............it`s plain to see that things are improving around BP but it will take time - to get a person representing the fans on the board is positive but as usual some" fans" are turning on her...............what do you want people.?? She won`t be able to oust the terrible two and some of the stuff people want her to ask is cringe worthy imo.

To be honest DB I wasn't putting you in the key board warrior camp! I'm all for a bit of justified or well meaning criticism if it is with the aim of improving things.

Unfortunately as someone else suggested..... I think there are a few who can't wait for her to slip up so they can leap on her (and not in the way knockout knockers seems to want to!!) - she can't change the world and realistically some of the stuff people want her to raise would lead to a breakdown in the working relationship between her and the board of directors.

Correct me if I am wrong but did we not already have a fans' representative on the Board before Claire was appointed?
If not what the hell has Norman Steel of whatever the Trust calls itself now been doing for the last however many years?

If me being critical towards Claire endears you all more to her then that is a positive thing.

It obviously took some bollocks to turn up there, but as said before, we need to keep things transparent - I am guessing that Claire said stuff to Moorlad that he or her can't post on here, apologies if wrong.

I just get the impression that this little spurt of activity is 'it' for Claire, I hope she proves me on.

I might be wrong but the promise to answer things on the other board have not materialized which is very disappointing.

Choosing your audience is an act of cowardice.

Been away Deano, just looked on the other site and couldn't see a single post from Claire, not even a creepy cvb one.

Where is the Q&A; on there or have I missed it?

Maybe Claire has been advised not to go on there I don't know - if she spent half an hour with Moorlad surely he could have talked her through the log on procedure?

Here's the chat log from here:
www.thecumbrians.net/index.php/forum/mai...aire-winder-26th-nov
griff: Claire huge thanks for coming on. I need to be away (driving duties) But I'll catch up with all this later. I'll also gather some questions in from foreign parts and let you have them sometime.

Griff is going to collate any questions and send them to Claire to answer. I said I would do the same on here between now and the next chat we decide to do, whether it's in a fortnight/month. I'd said weekly initially, but I'm not sure it needs a weekly one - correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll happily arrange.

Very commendable Deano, however just like you do and post on the other site why can't Claire pull her finger out and do the same?

Smells of censorship and corruption this from start till now, it is disgusting.

I will leave you all to your closed shop now and will smirk at your further persuit of hiding the truth to the masses.

I know Griff is trying to get it resolved, but for new members that sign-up, you get an 8 (approx) character random password, that cannot be changed - not can it be easily remembered. If I weren't posting on there in an official CUOSC capacity, then I wouldn't bother if it were a new account. Not being able to change my password would put me off in all honesty, and I can understand why Claire might not bother if she is having the same struggle. I keep referring to my emails for the password every time I have to login.

My regular cufcdeano account that I've had for about 10+ years still has the old password I used when I registered, so I've no problems logging on with that one.

As I've mentioned, Griff's been really helpful, it's not his fault, and it's a global Footymad decision.

So my five year old can log on so are you saying Claire is thick Deano?

Case of exclusiveness here for your site here I am afraid.

Laffy didn't take the challenge to go over there to face his critics but that was fair play, he didn't have to - Claire should feel obliged to do so as her position demands it.

As I said earlier, total farce and this is my final word on it.

That was actually something we did talk about. As was trust representation on the Holdings board, the fan liaison officer, the value of the fan rep post, investment, her feelings about the other board members. In fact anything I could care to ask. She answered the lot, and fair play to her for it. In fact fair play to her for even turning up, and for not getting out pretty quickly when she realised it was just me and Deano.

Silly, true supporters don't go to games anymore. Especially home games.

True supporters go through thick and thin, circumstances permitting. Unless you know that every penny your putting in is being siphoned out of the club, which it clearly isn't as it's losing more than is going in. Everything is good on the pitch. Things are going right at the moment apart from the running at top level. There is too much water under the bridge to let bye gones, be by gones. However things have improved. What hasn't improved at all really is communication. Claire was a small step towards improving that, and two people turned up. Good effort from our side! It takes two to tango! How do you know she can't achieve anything if you don't give her a chance. Basically a fans representative, needs fans to represent. It's not rocket science. That's my take on it anyway.

She is achieving things, and I told her as much. In the past two months we've had more info out of the club than I've ever seen. We know more about Blue Yonder's lock in agreement than we've known before and we've had extracts from the board meetings. This is also (with help from Deano as well) making the trust feel they have to be a bit more open, and we're also getting to hear more there. These may seem like small steps, but the reality is they're massive, they can't go back, a precedent has been set, now there is an expectation that this sort of thing will keep being delivered, and from what Claire said she'll be striving for more information, and quicker.

There was never a chance that Holding Company stuff was going to be sorted by Claire, so let's lay off her for that, she is doing what she can on the football club board and still niggling away at them. For what it's worth here's my view: she's doing far more than I expected, and she's achieving more than I thought would be allowed to be achieved. She's a determined person and doesn't look as if she's prepared to be swatted aside. She's told the other board members that she's not prepared to sign up to something just because they say so. If she doesn't understand something they have to explain it fully to her, only then will she make decisions.

I didn't want this post, didn't see the point in it, and I told Claire that at the weekend. We've got it though, and we need to use it, but use it properly, for what it can achieve, just don't complain that the incumbent can't change stuff that aren't in her remit. She fully understands the desire for quicker information, we talked about that too, and I'm sure she'll have stuff moving quicker next time.

Let's give her a chance, she's had two months, and has done more for fans in those two months than the trust has in a decade.
