She is achieving things, and I told her as much. In the past two months we've had more info out of the club than I've ever seen. We know more about Blue Yonder's lock in agreement than we've known before and we've had extracts from the board meetings. This is also (with help from Deano as well) making the trust feel they have to be a bit more open, and we're also getting to hear more there. These may seem like small steps, but the reality is they're massive, they can't go back, a precedent has been set, now there is an expectation that this sort of thing will keep being delivered, and from what Claire said she'll be striving for more information, and quicker.
There was never a chance that Holding Company stuff was going to be sorted by Claire, so let's lay off her for that, she is doing what she can on the football club board and still niggling away at them. For what it's worth here's my view: she's doing far more than I expected, and she's achieving more than I thought would be allowed to be achieved. She's a determined person and doesn't look as if she's prepared to be swatted aside. She's told the other board members that she's not prepared to sign up to something just because they say so. If she doesn't understand something they have to explain it fully to her, only then will she make decisions.
I didn't want this post, didn't see the point in it, and I told Claire that at the weekend. We've got it though, and we need to use it, but use it properly, for what it can achieve, just don't complain that the incumbent can't change stuff that aren't in her remit. She fully understands the desire for quicker information, we talked about that too, and I'm sure she'll have stuff moving quicker next time.
Let's give her a chance, she's had two months, and has done more for fans in those two months than the trust has in a decade.
