Due to get the 1:49 to Euston. Reckon changes are slim to none. Wondered about driving to Preston but will there be a train from there. Motorway looks pretty dodgy too. Trains, hotels and match tickets all paid for. Bugger!

My Sister is waiting for the 1149, they've let folk jump on the East Coast diversion to Kings Cross via Newcastle just now...

Not surprising really, Carlisles Rugby First Team were on their way to Leigh this morning but have turned back because the motorway is 'too dangerous'

They've started cancelling trains out of Preston to London now. presumably as the physical trains are stuck north of Carlisle. Keeping an eye on the 14:56 from Preston - if that's still running at 12:30 going to drive it.

I was due to leave on the 11.49, people were transferring by bus to Preston. Got on a train to Kings Cross via Newcastle. Not in Newcastle yet. Been stuck a few times in floods. I'd get down to the station Moylesey asap & take your chance. Tickets valid on any train if there is any. Its not improving.

Gary Dicker was tweeting from a bus earlier. Going to try 7:55 am from Newcastle to Kings Criss in morning if they'll let us use our west coast tickets.

I got the 1.30 from Euston today.
Everyone lobbed off at Preston, no coaches, no taxis, nowt.
Virgin bloke just shrugged his shoulders.

Walked halfway across Preston the bus station and got a bus to Lancaster that crawled along for 1 1/5 hours, Mrs useless came to pick me up from there. Not too bad for me as I was only going to Oxenholme, but felt for those trying to get up to Carlisle and beyond.

No one can do anything about the weather, but there seemed to be a complete lack of any contingency plan.
