Nearly scored after 20 seconds, nearly scored again after 50 seconds... never once looked in any trouble at all.

Took some mates to a bar to watch Fleetwood v Carlisle in the JPT a few seasons ago, just after Abbott got the sack. That was the exact opposite of what I watched today.

I know it was against poor opposition today but a good run over Christmas and we will be in a very strong position to get out of this league.

Congratulations to Keith Curle on getting us to the 3rd round... one of my most modest wishes at the start of every season... can't wait for the draw on Monday

Today, I did something I've never done before. My mate and his son are Welling fans, so I went in the home end behind the goal. Really interesting to hear their points of view. Firstly, they really weren't happy about their negative 4-5-1 tactics. Especially with their slightly rotund striker holding the fort (think Akenfenwi without the grunt). They also thought they should've had a pen in the first half (I thought it was 50/50 - seen 'em given). And wanted Sweens off for a pretty aggressive tackle in no mans land (v similar to the Joyce one at Wycombe - right infront of the dugout, but without the melodramatic ref hassling). They gave Hanford a fair amount of stick (which, surprisingly he reacted to...saying 'I'm not the ref' after the non-penalty incident)...Generally though, they were impressed with how big we looked and how professional we were. Mcqueen got a few ooohs for his dangerous runs and crosses. For me, it was pretty hard not to cheer 5 times! But generally a good bunch of fans and donating £500+ for the flood fund is a cracking gesture considering this was supposed to be their money spinner. Hope they stay up.

Sounds like the complete opposite of the Boreham Wood affair that.
