TOPIC: Photographer trespass into stadium

Club rightfully unhappy, just seen this from Andy Hall:

"Looking forward to seeing a sizeable donation to the #CumbriaFloodAppeal from the photographic agency (I know you're reading this) ... who sent their photographer to trespass into our stadium so they could profit from a devastating situation. You know who you are ... do the right thing for the people of Cumbria. Likewise the UK papers buying the images. We'll leave it there for now #CumbriaFloodAppeal"

Just to make it clear that it wasn't me !

Things have been pretty rough around Appleby, I am very lucky as I live on top of a hill but plenty of friends have been flooded. We only got our electric back yesterday afternoon, not easy when husband needs an electric powered chair and bed but we were warm and dry throughout and had good neighbours helping out.

Have now been to shops and bought camping stove and utensils and lanterns so will be better prepared next time.

It depends on the circumstances Nobby, I haven't seen the photographs. If some one has taken pics from a local vantage point then fair enough, I would have done the same myself. But if some one has gone into the club and in the process putting themselves at risk and making the ground less secure then I have no sympathy at all.

It's rather like when the Scottish Sun used one of my photo of Tom Miller the other day, without permission and out of context. I thought about billing them the standard rate for the photo but in the end I didn't, just told them to remove it,. You don't make money by doing the wrong thing, got to have a little bit of integrity I feel.

Pleased to see it wasn't you Bumble, also happy you've got your power back, hope things aren't too trying for you. Hopefully others affected will be able to start getting things sorted in the next couple of days. It is going to be a horribly long process, but the sooner they can get a start the sooner they'll start to feel like they're achieving something.

All fine so far, but now, in the cold light of day, the Club should be offering boat trips in and around Brunton Park for photographers and journalists to demonstrate the plight that the Club's currently in. The more publicity the more offers of help we may get. And this is no disrespect to the people who have been flooded out; they are getting the deserved attention (they come first) while businesses don't. But businesses employ people and jobs will be at stake. This needs to be considered as some of those jobs won't come back.

Anyway, I'll be back into Cockermouth as soon as I can to do my usual shopping there, to support the local businesses that are back open; thr butcher, the toy shop, the cafes etc. I hope we'll all be doing the same, eh?

I heard it was Bumble and Les Edmondson offered to give her a bunk up over the wall on the proviso she found Curles new contract and ripped it up.
