Rumours that the delay in announcing this game is because the Monkey Hangers are wanting it as a 'Home' game...

Also were they not planning on smashing our seats up in the away end.?Where's the monkey hanger that was giving us all the shit that Carlisle are all hooligans.? We seem to have a lot more friends out there so if we were all hooligans then PNE and Blackburn wouldn't be letting us use there grounds.

Kilmarnock is nicely placed on completely the opposite direction from Carlisle to Hartlepool

Plus there are direct trains to/from Carlisle on the 28th

If they don't want a bank holiday afternoon trip to St James', then just postpone the match, rearrange it and make them come to Brunton on a Tuesday night in Feb.

I understand the different country crack, but has it been explored by the club as a one off game? Special dispensation in unique circumstances or is it just guesswork that we aren't allowed?

If any game was to be postponed this would probably be the most suitable given that it's only 2 days after the Boxing Day game. However it's the biggest moneyspinner out them all if it was to be played on the 28th.

if UEFA object to teams playing in different countries how do they manage to hold all them Champions League and Europa League competitions then?

Alright, I know the difference is the home team is playing in their own country, but emergency one-offs isn't the same as re-locating the club

The SPL themselves are looking into doing similar for cold hard cash:

It's a lot less scarce than you think. Celtic played a European game at Old Trafford in the 80's, did Leeds not play Stuttgart in the Nou Camp, Israeli clubs often play out of the country. All of these were one offs due to extraordinary circumstances, similar to ours.

I'm surprised that the pitch at Victoria park is playable, what with all the last semblances of Billy Paynter's dignity and credibility left shattered and scattered all over the pitch in front of the away dugout.

When you look at what happened with Ukraine matches and Ukrainian Club games you would think playing a match in Scotland would be small fry like.

Doesn't surprise me from the club that demanded half the sky money to re-arrange a fixture so we could have a live game.

If they're refusing then [censored] them, re-arrange it and let's have it on a Tuesday back home.

Has been explored & we definitely can't. Hartlepool is more tricky than the others hence the delay in decision. It isn't just up to us & the other club (ie new location) where we play. It won't be played at Hartlepool.

Recall we played Hartlepool on a Tuesday night in Dec a couple of years ago.. albeit a baltic December.Plus we had a few tuesday night games at their spot as well...

I really hope its Sts James Park - it would be a great occasion for both teams with a bumper gate. Have Newcastle offered their ground? I also thin a lot of Newcastle fans would go.

For me its the perfect venue to attempt to raise huge funds for flood victims..

Would imagine it's to do with the distance they'll travel in relation to it being at Brunton Park? Possibly meaning they'd need an overnight stay ir something equally pathetic?

You have to remember it's Moore's Cup Final!

I would say they are well within their rights to complain. At the start of the season the game was scheduled to take place at BP not just at any venue of your choice!

Having said that when you look at the League rules Hartlepool will more or less have to abide by the FL decision if it come down to it as they have the last say when and where games take place. They won't want upset the Minkeyhangers if they can avoid it though.

What an absolute load of rubbish. Our club would love to play at somewhere like st James park. We would probably take 5000 plus in what is another dreadful season. No way on earth would the club demand the game to be at ours. It will be down to the police. Love it how some daft rumours start.

Ronnie Moore says he's not bothered where they play and is looking forward to Carlisle's 3-0 victory.

Id be disappointed if its not at St James Park. Does anyone know if the club is actively seeking to play there? Could be 15k plus crowd

Barring police I can't see any reason this game shouldn't be allowed to be held at St James. Would be a great opportunity to get a big support for the game.

Looking increasingly likely that this one might not happen, would be gutted personally as I'd already bought tickets and likely to be the only game I'll get to see for a while living overseas. What I would say though is that I'd rather it be cancelled than for us to accept anything we weren't 100% happy with. TBH we would beat the monkey botherers wherever we played them.
