The minimum requirements to stage games in the FL are a 4,000 capacity with a minimum of 500 seats.

Borough Park currently has a capacity of 3,101.

Now I'm no Carol Vorderman, but when I was at school 3,101 wasn't as many as 4,000, so it kind of rules Borough Park out of the running given that it doesn't comply with FL regulations.

Can everyone west of Thursby now please stop wetting their flares whenever CUFC announce that a game will be played at a ground that complies with the FL regulations, instead of a decrepit Speedway Stadium or a 1960's relic?

I can confirm that the fixtures are put on the website from an outside source, or at least definitely were when I worked there. It was a constant battle because there were frequently errors in both fixtures and the team profiles and we couldn't do anything about them. The argument from the website was they needed to keep things done centrally because some clubs were not quick enough updating the websites.

The argument from the club was that was all well and good but we did update regularly and we wouldn't add random players to the website team profiles or update fixtures before they had been confirmed with the Football League.

It seems that the website are still using an outside agency and still causing embarassment, so sorry Nobby I will happily critcise the club when I think they doing something wrong but in this case I have witnessed myself just how poor this "outside agency" can be.

Doubt Oyston has done this as a favour so must be making something out of it. Hopefully if it is on the sunday should be able to get a stream for it

PA Sport are very hit and miss like, lot of Gambling firms used to use them for resolving disputes - think a lot have dropped them now.

Im not even suggesting it coz its in West Cumbria. If Penriths ground held 3k id suggest that. Id even say Gateshead is preferable to Blackpool

Capacity at Penrith is 3000 apparently, though seating isn't many. Would this have sufficed? Yeovil won't bring many...

Penrith is also a good shout actually.

You might get 3,000 people into Penrith's ground but only 2,000 would be able to see anything.

Somebody said its a dog track at Derwent Park.

The greyhound stadium was there many moons ago next to reds ground. Reds actually used it when they couldnt use Borough Park.I watched a few games there myself.

Either stadium isnt the ritz but shouldve been considered for a cup tie against yeovil as should Penrith... Guess it wasnt mentioned much as most assumed it would have suffered flooding. As much as Barra is disliked.playing Yeovil there would have been an option..rather than Blackpool.

I think we're playing at Brighton in the 4th round if we get through and get a home draw. Nice weekend away for Steve Patt and the lads and f**k the rest of us!

You never no we might get a decent turn out at gloomfield road with all those stay away Blackpool fans may turn up to watch a decent team play football on there pitch

Without knowing the finer details this appears to be a shite decision to play 100 miles away when there's plenty of grounds capable of staging an FA cup match much closer. Penrith or Workington being the obvious choices, even Lancaster or Kendal. Once I've traipsed to Preston and Blackburn I'm not sure I can be arsed going to Blackpool on a gloomy Sunday in January.

Can we have an explanation from the club why blackpool was chosen. ...

I wonder what other clubs offered as said in the statement. Im disappointed its nit Workingtons Derwent Park - would have been a good atmosphere on the packed terraces and an opportunity to attract new fans from West Cumbria. Would also have given their economy a much needed boost for the day. There will be under 2k there so could have played it Kendall (2,400) or Lancaster (3,500) as well. Penrith capacity is 1,500

I never said it did!

The only reason it's not at Workington is because the directors would have to mix with the minions especially if it was at BP. This way they can continue to surround themselves with happy clappers patting them on the back for a job well done getting the club into nearly £2 Million in debt and turning away a consortium who wanted to drag the club into the 21st Century.
