TOPIC: Lucky for us

we have a well connected board member who knows a lot of people through the football league. Because of this we have managed to avoid a fixture pile up that would otherwise have destroyed our campaign

Like it or not JNs actions are the reason we won't have a fixture pile up. That's a good thing obviously. The inability of the loudmouth minority on here to give the board any credit just detracts from their overall arguments

From what I heard it was other clubs offering us the use of their grounds, we would if they were in this situation, rather than him calling in favours.

I am certain we would have had these offers regardless of certain board members.

I guess it is a mixture of goodwill and a chance to make a few extra quid out of pies, pints, parking etc

Just to nail my colours firmly to the mast here, I dislike the lies and deceit we've had to put up with over the past few years as much as anybody else, and I would dearly love for the club to be in other hands.

I have to say, however, that during the bloody awful situation we currently find ourselves, as a club, in, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about how they have acted. Quite the contrary in fact, they seem to have been getting quietly on with sorting stuff out, whether administratively, in terms of fixtures and clean up operations. They haven't shoved their faces on every telly screen and shouted about how badly off they are, they have let the general population lead the way. In short, they have acted with real dignity, on behalf of all of us, to the whole of the United Kingdom. They have in fact, shown the country what Cumbria is all about.

I don't know about anybody else, but it is my view that for what they've done in the last 2 weeks they deserve high praise. They're not perfect, granted, but they've got this right and fair play to them.

Also, I would imagine you haven't seen because you haven't looked. I'm fairly sure they'll be having something to do with contacting insurers, talking to other clubs and the football league (and FA), organising the clean up, getting construction firms in, sorting getting the club shop up and running in the Cumberland. This is most likely as busy as they've been in their years running the place, and things are moving, it might not be exactly what everyone wants,but they can't please everyone, they're doing what they should be, making decisions and getting them mainly right for a change.

How on earth do you know what's going on behind the scenes? They might not even be insured for all we know. You're attempting to give praise here where absolutely none is due.

What makes you say they may not be insured?

Do you doubt that they've had any dealings with the League, or the FA?

Are you just trying to have a go at them for no real reason? I'm as vocal as anybody when they get stuff wrong, more so than most, but it isn't me who's seeing things that aren't there.

They have got insurers as they where walking around doing the loss adjustments last week, the purple people are purple IT and we're trying to save data. The work to get the games on wasn't done by JN but Phil King and Suzzane Kidd, they deserve the praise!
