Chat / questions 23 Dec 2025 18:37 #1

Hi

At the last chat it was agreed that if there were any questions from this /the other msgboard then they'd go through Griff/Mike.

A chat can easily be arranged. Griff, as i mentioned the fan rep email is out of action at the minute & with it the log on email.

I think the communication from the club has been excellent about fixtures etc. Unless there's anything specific I'm not sure what i could add to that communication.

The Dec board meeting was postponed so work could focus on rearranging fixtures etc. No date has yet been set. I have suggested to CUOSC that the fan rep agenda item includes updates / feedback from their members. The next CUSG meeting is 6th Jan. Mike will update you on that & would collate info from members on this board for that.

Best wishes
Claire

Why didn't Newcastle let us have the hartlepool game there?
Have the insurance covered the full cost of getting the club back on its feet?
Any crack on the billionaire ? It is over 10 days now.

Claire, is it possible to ask the decision makers at the club why Blackpool was chosen ahead of several adequate Cumbrian venues for the Yeovil FA Cup match? Were any of Penrith, Workington, Kendal, Barrow or even Lancaster or Morecambe even considered?

There's questions on the other messageboard, posted ages ago, collated by griff that haven't been answered.

If I have to go through another person to ask a question I won't bother.

The communications gripe was in relation to statement about flags that appeared to be from John Nixon posted on away travel and Route 66 but nowhere else???

The communications from the clubs been ok but the Notts county match it was basic and they had to keep adding to it.

That statement wasn't from John Nixon, it was from our safety officer John.

Claire passed the same statement on to me - unfortunately for personal reasons I did not want/have the time to get online and pass the details on.

Thanks Mullen, I appreciate the reminder. They were:

1. What is AJs, JN and SP demeanour like in meetings? Do they all agree with each other?

2. Has Keith Agar been mentioned in meetings?

3. Do you know what the investment is that's currently on the table? As a fans representative what's your opinion of it?

4. are you a member of the FSF?

5. As a fans representative do you not feel it's your duty to attend all away games?

6. Have you worked with any of the 3 shortlisted candidates if so how?

7. What's your opinion on the current catering company and issues relating to them?

I'll add:

8. When do the club anticipate knowing when we will be allowed to watch football at BP again?

9. In view of the information that I've put up recently about Mr Lapping's pot, will Mr Pattison now apologise to Mr Lapping for his wholly unwarranted attack on his financial situation and acumen?

It's simple basic things that could make the world better.

Simply adding "from safety officer John" and getting Claire to post instead.

Hope all wells Mike, we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things but nothing personal.

Griff - i posted my personal email when the fan rep one was unavailable. It's still not working. Can you sort out my link for the other msgboard or do i need to wait for that to be up & running. Can you email me the questions & I'll reply to you?

If things are posted elsewhere. It is included with a please share. Any queries can be asked where they are posted. There are plenty of places you can ask directly. As I'm not on this msgboard everyday it was agreed that Mike & Griff would lead on any additional queries from here/the other msgboard. There's no change to that.

I'll be available on here for chats that are arranged.

Merry Christmas to you all

All seems a bit OTT the demands on you meaning you are set up for a fall Claire. You can't seem to do right for doing wrong Twitter, message boards, Facebook, emails, webchats, supporters groups, meet and greet, board meetings minutes, the list goes on. You post on one and miss another out you are called for it. Don't know what the solution is but just seems you are bombarded for information that you don't have the answers too.
The one time I have needed to contact you I did via the email and got a quick and informative response.

Best answer would be to set up a simple web page with contact details.

Have "what I did last week",
"what I am going to do next week"
"what fans can help with"
"what I would like fans to tell me"

Make sure there is new stuff done every week.

Give folk permission to copy any of your statements/ information

Much easier for all interested parties to go to one place to contact the fans rep rather than the fans rep chasing round all interested parties.

When there is only one fans rep and a hell of a lot to do, it would be more productive using the time doing things rather than chasing round writing up and duplicating statements.

Just my opinion of course.

Hi Bumble

Somewhere where everything was all together would be great. If someone cleverer than me wants to help me out with that / blog type thingy that'd be helpful.

In reality there are some weeks where nothing happens. It has been quiet since the floods. Most of the things i get asked are quick queries. The bigger stuff gets asked when i meet with suzanne &/ phil then some things go to the board meeting.

I have always wanted the supporter groups to work with me as they can reach more people than me alone.

I think it was you Bumble who asked in the selection process if i would be attending all games. I said then i couldn't for a variety of reasons inc. cost and work commitments. There is obv the season ticket for home games but i pay for all travel and tickets to away games. For those people who felt that attendance at all games was vital i assume they'll have chosen another candidate to vote for. I know Normab Steel attends most away games and home games and as fan rep for CUOSC he could also be contacted by their members on issues at games / away games. I choose to go in different areas for home games when I'm not with my son so i can experience the different areas. I don't think it's necessary for me to be in the Boardroom before the games but I'm happy to listen to suggestions otherwise.

There should've been 3 programmes written for 11/12 but due to the floods they went with having the basic programme so work could be focussed on the other vital issues that needed to be done for the rearranged fixtures.

The fan rep email will hopefully be up and running again soon.

Anything anyone sees that ive written can share it where they want to. I put my FB status to public for cufc related things. My inbox can accept msgs off most people i think.

Right, I'm off to finish off for xmas. Have a good one!

Hiya Claire, I'm sure if you put an appeal out some one would help you getting a blog up. Quite often your internet provider allows you free space to build a small website, it wouldn't need to be anything too elaborate, just somewhere everyone could go for info. I rarely use twitter, many fans don't use any social media but would maybe click on a website and read about your work. Many fans are uncomfortable with places that interact like forums, facebook etc but are happy on a page where they can read and email (without it biting back ))

Purely a personal view but yes, I do think it's important that a fans rep goes to most games both home and away. I really believe fans are important. I know there has in the past, and maybe still is, a belief at the club that only fans that go to home games are important as they are the only ones who contribute to the club financially. I can't agree with that, any fan of Carlisle United should be treated as important and a fans rep should be around t listen to them whether at Brunton Park or Plymouth. As I say just my own view, you and many others see that differently and whilst we don't agree I still hope you can succeed in making the role an accepted, inclusive and important place for fans and club to work together for the common good.

I do really worry that you say some weeks nothing happens. Make it happen! I know how horribly busy those at the club are but please don't be fobbed off. The fans are the most important thing at a football club. If some one cannot spare you half an hour once a week, then fans are not being given the priority they deserve.

I have seen you in the Paddock and the WRE at Brunton Park and said hello, think it's a really good idea that you do that. I noticed at Northampton they have folk going round with coats on (proper club warm coats) on the back they say, Northampton Town volunteer in big letters. You need a coat that says Carlisle United Fans Rep in big letters so fans know who you are and that they can approach you.

Right, got a million jobs to do, and have everything crossed that our electric holds out through tomorrow and that Appleby doesn't flood again.

Happy Christmas

Claire i know youd probably get accused of being a freeloader by some people but i honestly see no reason at all why as a board member youd have to pay for away travel or tickets. Im assuming our other board members dont all buy tickets for away games so why should you?

Claire, I can't really help you with access to the other board because I don't have access to passwords, and that's what you're missing. Is it also the case that CUFC don't back-up their system, including their email server, elsewhere? Seems like bad planning. Anyway, I'm not sure now where your alternative email address is to be found, and your footer still has your unuseable CUFC address in it.

So, I've collated all the questions on the thread on the attachment. You can easily cut and paste and print those out if you need to. I've also given my own email address so that you can send me replies and I'll post them.

Thanks Claire.

I won't get peed off. The folk who posed the other questions might but I won't. If certain people at CUFC don't/won't answer though, it allows the rest of us to question the fans rep post as an entity. Claire might ask herself why she's bothering if there are few answers because these are the very issues that are bothering supporters. But, and I repeat, if you don't ask then how else is the Board held to account?

I won't hold my breath though.

I haven't seen any answers anywhere.

I haven't known anything as silly in all my life. Claire could of posted the answers on here and Griff needs to post the answers on his site. Having to go through a million different ways/people is pathetic just post the bloody things.

A central communications point should of been decided/created by Claire at the start, which is why I keep banging on about all these messages appearing all over the place, not at all or missing from other places.

I think Griff just collated all the questions and put them in one place. Claire shouldnt answer that question and its one of the ones i alluded to that she would get laughed at if she did indeed ask Mr Pattison it.

Apologies Mullen, and to all. I've been away from my devices and had only limited time to post. Claire was extremely prompt with her answers and in forwarding some of the questions to CUOSC. It's me that's tardy.

Thanks Griff and thanks Claire, got there in the end.

A central points still needed though, a blog or a simple site doesn't have to be too fancy.

I've seen an email to say they will be answered, so will chase it up if there's nothing within the next few days.

Have now ;) - scanning not working need to read.

All I gleaned then is I don`t think she knows who Keith Agar is from her answer.
