Pitch inspection by the referee tomorrow morning at Accrington. Not looking good.

Beats me as to why clubs don't invest in covers which would keep water off the pitch.

If it is off, by the time we play them they'll have most likely sold Josh Windass and maybe 1 or 2 more. I know Windass is attracting championship and premier league interest and with him being out of contract in the summer, it's likely they'll sell in January.

That's the only positive I can come up with about tomorrow's postponement.

I was thinking this before, they'd have at least 3 games to play potentially without their best player, something I'm sure Coleman is aware of and not too happy about hence why he's ranting about us playing our games.

I am about 2 mile from ground and it is pouring down and has been all night. Unless the new drainage is amazing I can't see this being on at all.

You've got to wonder at the wisdom of not calling it off as soon as the red weather warning was declared. By not calling it off now they are encouraging 1000+ people to travel into an area that has very poor driving conditions, not good.

I drove down yesterday afternoon bumble and it was a bit hairy to say the least. Just before the kendal turn off there was a section closed apart from an emergency lane as a car had crashed and spun around facing the oncoming traffic in the middle lane. Very dangerous. Between penrith and Lancaster the motorway was like a lake.

They are saying that about the 6k going to Blackburn from Boro. Pitch maybe ok but red warning is pretty serious.

I don't think this is even about the pitch now. Travelling is dangerous. Make the decision and call it off. Pity but the safety of everyone traveling is more important.

Can you not use a County Ref the day before? With Matchday Official needed on the day?

I thought a county ref could do it on the day of the game as well if the matchday ref wasnt going to be there early enough. Would the matchday ref have been there today at half 8?

Wwll if that's the case then it's pretty stupid. Sometimes it's obvious from pictures that football can't be played and there's absolutely no need for a ref to travel to a stadium at the crack of dawn. I doubt we needed a referee to inspect Brunton Park before postponing our upcoming match, or to decide that the pitch wasn't playable for the Notts county match.

Today's Ref was from Lancashire, Jeremy Simpson. Probs went early to P-P it so he could get on the Sherry!
