I quite like Dicker, but if he goes I trust Curle to bring in better. Dicker is a good player, but isn't as good as some people on this forum like to make out.

Remember the shit tip we had last season and remember how much Curle has improved the standard of the squad, this despite losing Kyle Dempsey and Brad Potts. If we can get over the loss of those 2 then we can get over the loss of Gary Dicker.

Whether we get Liddle or not I don't know, but if Liddle is the calibre of player we're targeting, I'm not worried about us finding someone better than Dicker.

If true then I think the decision would be more about attitude and team spirit than footballing ability. I've commented before on the apparent friction between Curle and Dicker - probably more of a personality clash than anything else. Curle likes a certain type of player, hardworking and loyal typified by Joyce, Kennedy, Grainger, Ellis, Raynes, Ibehre,Thompson etc. That is the standard of commitment that Curle expects which is extremely high indeed!

Dempsey was our top scorer in an awful side in his first full season as a professional. Potts was played out of position - impressing for Blackpool as an attacking midfielder. Bit unfair to blame last season on them two, they were shining lights amongst that shite.

If we could put Dempsey in this team we would be promotion contenders imo
