Just heard Carlisle fans chanting "We're racist, we're racist, and that's the way we like it" after racially abusing Everton players. Poor
.

Off Twitter this like for anyone who to see, gotta be pretty braindead to sing crap like that in a public place like.

I am at the #Carlisle game and that is where I heard it. Disgusting stuff. #Everton #Racism #Abuse #RacialAbuse

Still no-one has said exactly what was alleged to have been shouted.

Are we talking the n-word? Mispronunciation of Kone?

The Carlisle fans were singing the proper song that the Chelsea fans were singing on the tube train that time. They were not singing the same words. I could hardly hear them singing it from the end of the warwick so i doubt the Everton end could be sure what words they were singing

So not a single person in the capacity crowd yesterday has claimed to have heard anything racist?

It sounds increasingly like Pienaar has misheard a 'you scouse [censored]' chant to me.

Possibly, that'd be equally braindead however considering Kone is from Anyama, Côte d’Ivoire and Pienaar is from Johannesburg. Hardly learnt their trade as kids in Stanley Park.

The world of twitter!

Fairly sure the Warwick were singing the regular version of that cringey 'Ultras' song, loads of clubs have taken to singing it these days. One guy out of 3600 Everton fans at the opposite end of the stadium claiming to have heard this. Wonder if this guy is the one the police are 'urging' to come forward.

The lad obviously talks total crap but I am amazed from looking at his tweets yesterday how anyone can watch Deutschland 83 properly (subtitles) and keep tweeting what is going on all the way through it - think you need to be locked in a room alone with no distractions to really follow that programme.

Where does he say is an Everton fan mind?

Some folk should be very careful. No, we're not a conspicuously racist supporter-base, but there are obviously a minority who will be. After all, the Daily Mail has a fairly wide circulation.

But can I just point out one thing. The one thing that I detest on this board is the fairly constant denigration of "scousers" as though they are a racial group, dedicated in their entirety to thieving (eh, Alan?). No doubt there are a minority of Liverpudlians who turn to crime, just as there will be a minority of racists in our ranks. That's is no reason to label the whole population of a city in derogatory terms. There was even a thread on here a few days ago saying how folk should be careful as the scousers attending yesterday's game would be removing stuff from skips. And these sorts of posts crop up from time to time, generally when Liverpool FC are playing. Pack it in, eh? You have to realise that these sorts of comments labels YOU as discriminatory at best, racist at worst.

Time for it to stop.

I'd call anyone a git if I didn't like what they'd done. I even call mrsgriff a git from time to time. I stop short of calling a whole population thieves, bin-dippers and the like. Continuing this influences a whole new generation who will say similar, uneducated things. Think about it.

It's likely been some thick twat from Maryport, or the Moor, or somewhere who "supports" Man Utd and hasn't been to a football match since the mid 80s and thinks it is acceptable to abuse people racially. I don't doubt that something has been said, I don't think the lad would have made it up, and he was perfectly right to tell the referee as well. I had high hopes that this sort of thing was long gone from Carlisle United, it has been years since I heard (and reported) anything of that sort. The problem is, in a crowd of that size there are bound to be people like that, it is massively unfortunate, for the club, that whoever it was made his outburst within the hearing of one of the players.

I really hope that whichever idiot it was, he's caught quickly and a proper example is made of him. It also must be made clear that it is a very isolated incident, and this sort of thing does not happen at Carlisle United, and is in no way tolerated.

All of it? Really? I think you're over-generalising. I'm sure that some did that; on such stuff are legends built. But you can't denigrate a whole population because of the actions of some. And if you hold those views, but are against racism at Brunton Park, you're a hypocrite.

2 Police Officers behind goal, ballboy beside players celebrating, Steward #65 just to the right of the players celebrating & an official photographer slightly further right of the steward would surely be the first ones to ask if they heard anything if it is going to be religiously persued by our esteemed guardians of the law. Yeah, because when the dimwitted steward points you out to the racist as the person who grassed him up, that will go down well having a fight at the football with your kids there.

Shut up griff, for Christ sake.

Stereotyping cities or areas of the country due to what they are known for has gone on for years, most will take it as what it is, banter. However there's always a few precious ones amongst us who will take offence, these are normally the ones who are offended by anything and everything, pathetic really. Do you think folk from the West Country are offended at being called cider drinkers or wurzels? Or folk from Sunderland getting called Mackems? Or southerners getting called shandy drinkers? I certainly wasn't offended when opposition fans used to sing sheep shaggers at us. It's light hearted banter ffs!

Stinky's correct when saying a lot of scousers (whoops, am I allowed to call them this?) would take great pride in thieving from firstly the port then later on from all over Europe when they would travel away with football. Obviously nobody's saying every single Liverpudlian is a thief, but whether you like it or not it's a reputation which scousers have earned over the years. To call it racist is a pathetic overreaction to be honest.

Find it quite hilarious that you're accusing folk on here of being hypocrites yet on the one hand you're whinging about people generalising others and stereotyping and on the other you're implying all Daily Mail readers are racist!!! Work that one out

If you genuinely feared for your safety then you could of gone under the East Stand and spoken to a steward. You could of given a block, row and rough idea of seat.

Plenty of Mancs took pride in it as well as folk from all over the parish - not even at Football, documented well in books such as Grafters and Undesirables. Seems to be something a segment of nigh on every Clubs fans did at a certain point when they went away in Europe, not sure if a trip to Rotterdam in 91 was paid for legally by anyone from Lancs.

Seriously are you doing it on purpose ?

The point was the same people come on to the racist threads and say "I never hear anything" and then pretend everything is good at BP, my story was just to show that there are [censored] that come into the ground and chant shite, I wasn't twinning about anything, so not sure where that comes from, unless condemning racist chanting is twinning nowadays.

So this feared for my safety bit ? Are you misunderstanding fighting in front of your kids for fear ?

Why are you deliberately being an arse ?

Thread over for me, you can [censored] get on with it.

I take it you did the right thing then bluealf and reported him to a steward?

No, as I was with my kids, that is how they get away with it

Even more reason to report him then, surely?

Yeah, because when the dimwitted steward points you out to the racist as the person who grassed him up, that will go down well having a fight at the football with your kids there.

Pretty sure there's more than one steward on each area of the ground. Go and speak to one out of sight of your seat and tell them roughly where they are and what they look like.

I've been going to BP for ~25 years, admittedly the first 15 were not regularly but I haven't heard anything. If I had, I would of confronted it, either directly or via a steward.
What's the saying?
"for evil to triumph only requires good men to do nothing"

Fine, if I offended you with the term "in fear of your safety" then let me rephrase that. If you didn't want to end up fighting in front of your kids then go under the East Stand and tell someone.

Shut up yourself Frank.

Firstly on the Daily Mail point it was proven in the British Crime Survey some years ago that people's perception of how crime affects them was skewed by whether they read the broadsheets or the tabloids. Broadsheet readers were generally well informed on crime levels and the sorts of crime that is happening and in which areas. Tabloid readers were generally poorly informed by sensational headlines, and had no real idea that (at the time) crime levels were falling especially in urban areas. The Daily Mail was cited as being a prime example, choosing to sell newspapers by leading with items demonising asylum seekers, over-sensationalising crime rates and causing health scares. I'm not saying that Daily Mail readers are racist. I'm saying that they have a tendency to be poorly informed on key subjects.

Oh, and last time I looked, drinking shandy or cider or being a Mackem isn't a criminal offence. And if you're ok with being called a sheep-shagger then good on you. However, thieving is an offence, and is especially unacceptable when applied to the whole population of a city.

I really don't think you thought your post through, Frank.

Griff,
You are without doubt a tit based on this thread, without the need for any survey or categorisation.
I read the Daily Mail, so you have categorised me as uninformed without knowing the first thing about me (dodgy football team selections aside).
You aren't in line to take this board over are you?

To be fair Stinky, I'm often wrong, but not that much in areas in which I used to work. And, yes, anyone who reads more widely stands a better chance of being well-informed. Not everyone has that opportunity though.

I think a Leeds fan that also is a thieving Scouse git could possibly be the lowest of the low. Please don't do it CW
