If the ref is such a prick then there will be no chance of the red getting rescinded and with some big teams in terms of stature coming up in the next two matches with Stevenage&Wimbledon; when you would think Jabo would be most useful.

To be fair Mullen take a look at the Accrington players reactions, there's only one that comes steaming in as if Jabo's done anything wrong. One even looks as though he thought it was going the other way.

Looks very harsh to me, he's got his eye on a long ball coming over his shoulder and has his foot up to control it, the defender has come in and headed it clear and Jabo's caught him on the thigh.

Need to hear from somebody who was there to clear it up, but Phillips on BBCRC was saying that Coleman had gone to the away end giving it the big I am. Sounded like he'd then been dragged over an advertising hoarding which promptly collapsed before the stewards got in and broke it up.

In fairness, he didn't sound certain of exactly what had happened.

Very disappointing reaction from Coleman. Totally no excuse for it, his goading the fans like that could have caused a serious problem in the full standing terrace. The stewards were very quick to keep our fans back but they really should have asked him to go away and stop inflaming the situation.

Also, I noted yesterday that the ref for tonight was the referee when Orient came here first game of season a couple seasons back. He sent lee Miller off for the Orient player face planting the ad boards

I love how exaggerated this is. I realise its not your words, but he certainly didn't get dragged over an advertising hoarding. No fans got close to him. Silly fool doing his best to goad away fans.

I thought in both games Accrington tried to stop the flow of the game with persistent niggly fouls.

I thought the ref should have booked more of their players at BP and I thought the same today.

Sending off was harsh, he had eyes for the ball and hardly made contact with player. Waste of time appealing it though, they'll look at the high foot and give it a big fat REJECTED stamp.

Think it was the hard surface round the pitch.
That was the worst red decision I've ever seen. Shoulder to shoulder, player falls over, bangs his head on the floor....red card. Shocking referee.

Aye, hard surface round but didn't he end up below the ad board that gets wheeled about?
Terrible ref, that sending off and tonight's were as bad as each other I thought

Since when did they have the internet in Accrington.

If you go in with your foot that high, you're inviting trouble wether it's the first min or last...

Asked a mate who's a referee at a decent level, he said red as studs are up...

Letter of the law says he should go but really? 1st minute, ball coming over his shoulder and he's trying to win it.

Never a red for me but the reaction of three or four Accrington players who rush in to stir things up and a ref seemingly eager to make his mark led to the red.

My issue with stuff like this is it happens most games and often is a yellow or free kick. It's not like the lad has had a touch and then Jabo's gone through him waist high! Both had eyes on the ball and the lad got there first. Stupid of Jabo to go in like that but is it worhy of a red card?

I don't understand this "it was only the 1st minute" talk.

Doesn't matter what minute it was, if you score in the 1st minute its a goal so no difference whatsoever.

High foot, studs showing and caught the man is a sending off, sometimes you get lucky and only get a yellow.

Presumably if he had repeatedly punched him in the face then it would be a yellow card as "it was only the first minute".

His eyes were on the ball the whole time, foot was high, but made absolutely no contact with his foot. It was his thigh that caught the bloke, and at worst was a clumsy challenge that warranted a yellow card.

As other have said, what minute it took place makes no difference, see Comley on Saturday, a yellow/red card is given whether its the first or last minute.

In my opinion it wasn't a red. Many others here agree. Many others also disagree. We can argue about it all day though, the fact is the referee gave the red card. Will it be overturned, probably not.

No one wins an appeal like this at the lower levels. There is a lack of cameras around ,which means clubs are unable to provide conclusive evidence to reverse the decision.
The only thing that lower level clubs will normally be able provide enough evidence for to reverse a wrongful dismissal is, mistaken identity.

For what it's worth, this one probably should have been a yellow but it won't be reversed, the single camera angle does not provide the evidence required to overturn.

I think it costs £500 to appeal in League 2.

No chance of it being rescinded though as it was definitely reckless though a harsh red. No malice involved.

I suppose it comes under serious foul play whether he meant it or not.

So now you're saying that when a ball comes over your shoulder you aren't allowed to have your foot up to control it?
Eyes on ball, leg up to control and the Accrington player runs into his thigh and makes a meal of it.

The way a fair few of their players steamed in and surrounded the ref also will have contributed

That was terrible from Clattenberg. Even if it had hit Sterling's arm it was hardly deliberate with his back turned.

These pundits get on my tits when they say it's got to be given because the player's hands are way up in the air. It doesn't matter where your f***ing hands are it's got be intentional to be a penalty.
