It doesn't matter where your f***ing hands are
Actually it does these days. In the refs guidelines; arms above are considered to be in an 'unnatural position' and usually therefore deliberate.

Just because they're in an 'unnatrural position' it doesn't make it deliberate. Your arms can go anywhere when jumping/tackling/blocking.

It has to be a deliberate (intentional) hand ball for a penalty or free-kick to be given.

They do indeed, however I was merely commenting that the positioning of the arms/hands is of relevance these days.

Nobby: It's hard to prove 'intent' (unless the player admits it) therefore there are guidelines as to what are considered to be 'deliberate' actions. Positioning/movement of the arms are part of them.

Bit harsh to be honest, suppose it could be deemed wreckless, I'd go careless myself. Not helped by no.11's pathetic reaction running in to tell the ref like a kid in the playground. Just a shame Raynes adopts the same tactics to try and get players booked and sent off.

Laughable when folk say the Accrington lad made a meal of it, he had to go off in the end after struggling on and getting clattered again. I wouldn't fancy running into Ibhere like.

Felt the ref set the precedence with his early decision, spent the rest of the half trying to even things up. If we claimed for something we invariably got it. Their sending off was equally as harsh but not really surprising, he probably felt he had to give it. Decent game spoiled by a poor ref.

There's a load of rubbish talked about dangerous play. Are you saying you can't control a ball with your foot above waist hight because someone might be behind you? FIFA had better ban overhead kicks then. I've seen some nasty clashes of heads over the years, that must be dangerous too, get it banned. People walking backwards - they could tread on someone's toe! Straight red.

Out of interest, what were people's views a couple of years ago when Nani was sent off in the Champions League for something similar. He tried the "I wasn't looking" defence and I remember Roy Keane at the time saying that was irrelevant - if you stick your boot in the air and show your studs then you know there is a chance that another player's head is going to be occupying the same space - therefore reckless play.

Didn't Nani used top play for Man Utd? if so absolutely no excuses deserved a red no matter what.

Nonsense. I'd better not bend my arm, someone could bump into my elbow.

That was terrible from Clattenberg. Even if it had hit Sterling's arm it was hardly deliberate with his back turned.

These pundits get on my tits when they say it's got to be given because the player's hands are way up in the air. It doesn't matter where your f***ing hands are it's got be intentional to be a penalty.

If you hold your hands out or up in the air it is harder to get the ball past you though.

When a red card is rescinded it would be a nice gesture if the referee in question was obliged to go on Sky Sports News and set fire to the card used.

Even better with that ref just setting fire to himself would be a lot better use of a match . The couple of games ive seen him ref he's been shite any way wouldnt trust him to ref a sunday morning kids game and get it right
