Yeah looking back I did build gillespheys performance up a bit because:
1.I have been in his shoes, young academy lad coming into "real mans football",and every match is tougher than the last one, like gilliead and Comley, they will have good days and bad days almost weekly, but they have to learn somewhere.
2.I feel he was up for the aggressive side yesterday and put himself about, early on his man was dangerous but after 30 mins or so he didn't get a kick.
3.I liked how he realised it wasn't the day for academy football and so as someone said went a bit longer with his passing, but I have to say some of them balls were more than a long ball as it was down the sides for Jabo.Maybe not near MOM,but I think he done well today so good on him.
What a game, still buzzing now,I said st half time this won't turn into a great free flowing performance today,we just need to "find a way".We have characters in that dressing room and calmness on the touch line, trust more than anything, the lads pulled it off!
Great seeing all the families coming into the game and youngsters, and then the young lads marched in by police singing United! Who I must say as much as people look at them and think trouble, they were tapping youngsters on the head on their way in and cuddling young lads with scarves on,blue and white family!
As for afterwards,I think this is where you see that me and James Phillips are chalk and cheese,I wish I had the demeanour to calmly tell someone I'm not a cheat and he can't swear, then report him........but I simply can't!
I pretty much fancied the ruck!!!
Enjoy your hangovers today!
Oh and one more thing.........Assssaaaaaammmmmoooooooooaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
