TOPIC: England fans causing bother already!

Didn't take long . . .

Bar owner on the news earlier didn't seem too concerned.... no damage to windows or bar etc. The news channels also stated that England supporters had been attacked by about 50 Marseille ultras/ thugs or whatever they were..... But no doubt the English will be blamed.

Just going to say the same. Various reports I've read was that it was local Ultras who had attacked England fans.

Hasn't there been a lot of restrictions/bans on away supporters travelling to domestic games in France this year?

It's just lucky that none of the Rangers and Hibs fans that disgraced their cup final will be in France this summer. Our hooligans look pretty tame compared to the Scottish now.

There will be plenty of Rangers fans there supporting England.

The BBC story was typical anti-England fan media hype. Two arrests was hardly worth a headline story on the BBC website.

In this age of almost every single person carrying a HD recording device in their pocket there is no place for people blaming England fans where they aren't to blame. Just saw on the news an England bar being stormed by a pack of dark skinned gentlemen, they stormed in unprovoked, ripped flags down and set about whoever was nearest.

I reckon that there is far more to this than football rivalry.

Firstly I'm not an England fan, never had much interest in international football! Think it's an absolute disgrace the way BBC & ITV are portraying England fan's when it's very obvious that they are being set up on by French fans, police & Russian fan's. I have no doubt there is a hooligan element out there, but after seeing tonight's footage, speaking to a couple of lads out there & reading what Jamie Vardy's wife has tweeted, there is no doubt in my mind England fans are being targeted. Now being reported that 1 person pronounced dead. Also NI fans being attacked in Nice. Sky sports news are reporting the truth, England fan's attacked, rather than causing trouble! Russian fan spotted this morning & again this evening leading the violence. Has he been lifted? No, because the English are there, let's blame them.

Rightfully UEFA have started disaplinary procedures against Russia. NI & POLAND fan's now reported to be singing together & that it was Nice /France fan's that were attacking...

I`ve been abroad following England a good few times over many years and to be fair there is an element within the England support that can be troublesome, but from what I`ve seen it is usually a very small element within the overall support. I have witnessed, likely due to the alleged "reputation" of the England fans, the locals and / or opposing fans coming out and looking for trouble. Usually the police in the particular country we are playing ally themselves on the side of the locals or opposing fans, whatever the situation, and before you can say "England fans causing trouble again" we are a news item.
Most England fans who travel are responsible, dedicated, intelligent people who passionately support the team, enjoy the country they are in and welcome the rapport with the opposition fans and the local people, unfortunately this scenario is often spoiled by the likes of the half wits, as we`ve seen in the last couple of days, in this case from Marseille / Russia / God knows where, who seem determined to set themselves up against the English hard men.

Couldn't have had England in a worse City in France really in the trouble front. Amazed how many people are surprised there has been trouble involving Russians and how many thought Russians wouldn't travel to this in decent numbers - the resorts in Spain are ran by Russians now you keep hearing. A mate flew from Malaga to Marseille Saturday morning and said there were some big lads on! Probably the same ones calling the shots round Banus and Marbella these days.

It does sound like this Wales match could be so unorganised and overpopulated outside that it could be mayhem. Lot of lads going from both nations without tickets.

Any body know a plasterer called Trimble? He's quoted in yesterday's Daily Mail coz he's in Marseille.. Story says English fans involved in fighting are linked to clubs including Leeds Carlisle and Nottingham Forest ..Russian fans are said to be linked to Locomotive Moscow

I watched the Ross Kemp show on Marseille on you tube the other week, quite good - very dodgy place.

One of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen, England getting ran live on tv by Russia ,shows how far the game has gone soft over the last few years ,drums,trumpets,trombones and fans who have never had a fight the games paggered

Other sports quite rightly laugh at football fan mentality when this is in the news. Pretty sad really.

Seeing a video clip of England and Sweden fans giving it jovial songs yesterday is the fun part..all in good humour..thats how good banter amang fans should be...
