If the idea is to improve TV viewing figures then why can't they just say that? Not spin us this bullshit about improving "attendances" and developing home grown players.

It is crackers though, if you have a sky or BT subscription (Im assumming it'll be on sky or BT) that is paid for regardless of this ridiculous farce, you may just decide to stay at home instead of going to the match and thus save your admission fee. This whole setup is self defeating!

This is a exert from what they sent to the lad doing the petition. So it seems they are concerned about TV audiences.

Attendances have been in decline and it has been quite challenging to get TV audiences fully engaged for a variety of reasons. These are two areas pivotal to the success of any competition.

Couple of interesting points

He says Morecambe voted against it too which is strange as were now up to 8 clubs who are claiming to have voted NO

And hes saying that the way that the vote was done was very suspect in that each league individually discussed it and at that point werent expecting to be asked to vote on the matter at the end of the meetings.

Were the Championship clubs given a vote because essentially its got fu*ck all to do with them ?.and as he says if you dont get as far as the last 8 you wont see any of the extra money whatsoever.

For every point raised in favour of the new format, he has a concise, sensible answer which pretty much makes the whole thing appear as if it hasnt really had much thought. He picks it apart, and illustrates far more issues wrong with it than I actually realised.

Yes he comes over very well a chief exec who comes from a football background [he was the cheif exec of the Lancs FA ] I reckon hes on about a third of what our guy is on and has already covered his first years wages by showing Accy grants that they could of been claiming but wernt. I was a bit sceptical .when they overlooked Rob and gave him the job but they seem to have formed a working relationship for the good of the club and deal theyve done over the stand and the ground lease is nothing but amazing.

Add to that the fact that Colemans at the Euros [ Not sure if Any Holt has let him take the cheque book or not lol ] and doesnt seem worried about the players that theyve lost but i cant see them repeating what they did last year.

Why exactly hes entitled to a holiday just like everyone else

And from what theyve tweeted his 2 weeks at the Euros are on club business i.d like to think we were looking to sign players at that standard.

Difference is Coleman tweets the fans what hes up to and pics of people hes met whereas Curles twitter hasnt been active for 3 years and when it was it was all about getting his kids to tell his ex wife that he still loves her a bit embarrassing for a man of his age and standing really.

Crunchblue , I would have thought 40-50k for the final between B teams is a massive over estimate given the crowds for the U21s FA Cup final games (over two legs home and away) and the fact that the final is played in March on a weekend when Prem clubs have been playing (may even be playing at the same time on a Sunday). It will also be live on TV. I would reckon the crowd would be nothing more than 15-20k at best.

But what DB said confirms that there will be no limit on how far the U21 PL Teams will be allowed to go [ some people were saying they would only play in the group games ]
