A bit more to my liking than the last few. Might have to get some tickets for that.

I was just about to slag it off but realised that it is not the real UB40 that play at The Sands but the greatly superior Ali Campbell version featuring Astro and Mickey Virtue, you need the original singers or it is a no go for me so for fans of UB40 this should be a treat.
Level 42 were A listers back in the eighties and the Wailers are legendary so it should be quite decent to be fair.

Looking forward to this.
Saw the tribute UB40 at the sands and the music was great but the singing terrible.
This should be good.

Have to say I was really excited about this - until I saw that it is all standing. No problem for me but a waste of time for the little woman. Surely they're going to open a stand or two...

Depends what they mean by general admission. When I went to see the foo fighters at Sunderland the full pitch and lower teir were classed as general admission. I'd like to think you'd be able to sit anywhere similar to that.

Apparently disabled persons' carers will be admitted free if the fan buys a ticket and the carer doesn't sport a UB40 jacket, tattoo or similar.
If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

Booked my tickets this morning via O2 priority, there's a platinum viewing option, slightly dearer at £55 each, but hopefully a good view, private bar etc.

Not my cup of tea at all but still pleased on two fronts.
The Rod Stewart concert must have been a success if they are doing another this summer.
Holding it very early in June gives the pitch more chance, so we will hopefully get a home friendly.

I never saw them as a stadium band - more like an arena size band. They were never going to seel 20,000 tickets. Does this mean the people who have already bought one get another free? Id be a bit miffed if id bought two and this was now the case/

Why? Companies have sales on all sorts of stuff all the time. Surely if ticket master want to have a flash sale then its up to them?

The other UB40 have played 2 gigs at the sands in recent years, so people have decided not to bother with this one. The singer, Ali's brother, was awful and i imagine this one will be better.
It seems you can only buy these 2 for 1 tickets in quantities of 2 so 4 tickets.

Think it may well have something to do with the dispute thats going on between the 2 versions of the band there was something about it on Breakfast TV the other morning.

So, DID anyone off here go and was it any good? Looking at the pictures on the OS, they did well to find a crowd - looks like a Barnet away following...

Or rather why didnt they have a good supply of soft drinks to sell at overinflated prices thus making a few quid. I didn't have the same prob as went to KFC at Gretna services and sat on the car park listening to the football.

I went to both. Last night there were perhaps 2400-2700. Very pleasant evening, a certain aroma filled the crowd around half way through and 'mellowed' the occasion.
Olly Murs was a good show man, sang well and entertained well.
The bars tonight however need a mention - 45 minutes I queued to be told they'd ran out of all cider, rose wine and gin. Last night was completely different - quick service. It would certainly appear that catering for over 3000 is not a strong point for anyone at Brunton Park!

Yeah wife said she thoroughly enjoyed the concert but the queues for food and drink were terrible. I assume it was the old caterers still running the concessions. Hopefully they get someone better in next season.

Food seemed to be external. Queue for that was long, paid £7 I think for a double burger.

Wonder how long folk think it reasonable to queue with a crowd of 7k ??? Come on stop being bloody negative....it was a great gig apparently .....went to Elton John 2008 was it ? There were food stands and bars all along in front of the Warwick ...where were they tonight?

You can go to Glastonbury and get served faster with a crowd far greater than 7k! 45 minutes was ridiculous. There seemed to be more bar staff last night than tonight.
There were the bars open in the east stand concourse and two by the dugouts.

As a wild guess if you go to see a act thats on for 90 minutes you wouldnt expect to queue for 45 like Mouldy. If you think thats reasable then your more mental than i give you credit for. Last 2 big concerts ive been to 20k last week and id guess 40+k the one before that you were served in a minute or so no probs.

Have look at the videos from the gig last week in Darlo the mobile bars there were using the latest drinks dispense technology the same as they use at the cricket which fill the plastic glasses from below.
Be very strange if the same drink service company werent involved again at BP given the proximity
