Was another good KC interview so JP sneakily added in in the stuff from texts and messages so as not to ask KC directly and managed to rile him again.

Chris in Whitehaven had suggested the wheels had come off at Carlisle United and KC got incensed and demanded to know his name, JP said they had his number as well KC said he wanted to see him in his office on Monday Morning to tell him why his wheels had fell off, then said he would travel to Whitehaven - good stuff :)

You've got to laugh when folk are saying they are at their lowest point of being a Carlisle fan.
Which club have they been following for the last 10/20/30 years. :cheer:

I know what youre saying but those of us whove been around for as long as that have seen it all happen before on any number of occasions we get into a position where the hard bit is done and you go into the new year top 3 and a good bit of investment then would nail it on and what does Jenkins do but start counting his pennies any man with a bit of ambition and get up and go about him would of chucked the hundred grand in and if was that desperate to get it back take it when the increased cheque from the league comes thru in June

Men with no ambition and who dont like a punt shouldn't be running football clubs full stop.

But no doubt he.ll be a happy man tonight with no win bonuses to pay

I'd rather KC concentrated on getting some decent players through the door and turning this poor turn of form around than having a coffee morning with a stranger. Maybe he's heard there will be jam sarnies on offer too!

Keith,
My name is useless.
That was sh1t today, we couldn't break down a 10 man team from a club on its arse.

There was no invention, no real drive, something has changed.

McKee is garbage, jabo doesn't look bothered, gillespheys distribution is awful , I could go on.
This wasn't a one off has been evident for a good few games now.
People have a right to expect better.

I was more concerned by him saying that "if we don't get an extra 2k through the gates on Saturday then you can't complain if we aren't able to bring any new players in" comment, to be honest!

Well he's right, so many "fans" always find excuse not to come, every time that excuse is no longer relevant they find a new one. If you within 30 mins of the ground with nothing to do and spare money on a Saturday, why not got to the match.

How would a good bit of investment in January "nail it on" Barry? It would give us a better chance of promotion but certainly wouldn't nail it on or guarantee it.

Markredfox, your protest has been completely incompetent. Your ideas are contrabuting, fans like you are a huge reason that we are in this situation, fans like you have not weakend the boards hold but made it stronger, the more debt we owe to themthe stronger their hold become. Another point is we have bad owners but they are no where near the worst in our league , we are currently third in the league for once we are on the up and all what so called "fans" are doing is stopping progression.

I think you would find that if the the Directors invested in the club when they acquired it for free, the supporters giving gates of 8k to 9k would still be there. Instead, they did not investing they ran the club from the verge of Championship football to the bottom of league 2.
Why do you think David Allen left the BoD?

The only way the football club will develop is if we have owners who will invest.
The supporters do their bit by turning up home and away and paying their money.

Question the BoD to sell up, others will invest more then.

Well if Cutle was given a hundred grand to spend now with the wages to back it up and didnt then get us promoted he wouldnt deserve to manage anywhere ever again.

And if you want to look at nailed on look at how many points we have now and how many more it would take to reach the average points needed for 3rd place and you start to see that the hard part of the job has been done

And if we were to be promoted without those new players they would still be needed in the summer so all youre actually doing is bringing forward their acquisition from then and throwing a 100k at it to make it happen which is justified in two ways one by making the promotion even more likely and secondly by going into your new season in the league above with players who have had 4 months to bed in [ as well as if any of them torn out to not work out for whatever reason you have an opportunity to get rid and replace in the summer ] its called advance planning something Jenkins clearly dosent understand.

Owners 'investing' in football clubs is a myth, investing is putting money into a financial project with the expectation of making a profit, whilst accepting there is a risk that it won't.

What we are asking them to do is to gift/donate, whilst at the same time giving them abuse when they don't, and suggesting that there is a queue of people waiting to takeover and chuck money into the pit that is owning a football club, which there isn't.

Jesus christ.

Good contribution there.

Owners, especially at this level, don't 'invest' in clubs, because football clubs rarely, if ever make a profit that can be taken out, and when they do the money is generally then spent on players.

They either put it in and write it off, or loan it and take it back in good years or when they sell the club.

What a load of absolute nonsense.

That is the definition of "investing".
www.thefreedictionary.com/investing

Jesus christ.

Good contribution there.

Owners, especially at this level, don't 'invest' in clubs, because football clubs rarely, if ever make a profit, and when they do the money is generally then spent on players.

They either put it in and write it off, or loan it and take it back in good years or when they sell the club.

How many Football Clubs have been an owner of?

Eh ?

How would a good bit of investment in January "nail it on" Barry? It would give us a better chance of promotion but certainly wouldn't nail it on or guarantee it.

Any chance you can actually answer the question asked Barry? How would investment now "nail it on"?

Given a 100k now my next door neighbours guide dog would guarantee us promotion. What is it something like 1.3 pts per game needed to reach the average needed If Curle cant do that he shouldnt be anywhere near managing a football club.

Apologies, it may just be my ignorance from you know, not having owned a football club before, but where in that article does it say anything about him making a profit from RB Leipzig, because all I could see was the €135m at least that he has put in so far ?

So my point remains, football clubs are money pits, nobody 'invests' in them expecting a return.

It doesn't. Don't worry about it. The head boys at Allianz, Audi and Adidas must be clueless too with their investment in Bayern.

Won't have anything to do with sponsorship opportunities at all.

Little surprise that the only examples you can give are at the top level, in Germany. So completely relevant with people putting money into our club.

Most sensible thing youve said

So let the clubs be run by people who dont want/expect any financial return they want their return in what happens on the pitch and in the crack of following their team made all the better by knowing that they are a part of that success financially.

Be amazed if anyone thought adidas wouldn't make money from their investment here like:

www.theguardian.com/football/2015/apr/28...nich-adidas-kit-deal

Lot of people have a problem with businesses investing (or whatever you want to call it) in Football Clubs these days, end of the day they are a business and proven successful businessmen are always likely to only "invest" when they think they will make a profit, the dodgy ones or poor ones don't. You hear of folk saying they would buy a Football Club etc if they won the lottery, most would probably go bust within 5 years you would imagine if they took full control and took no advice.

Of which JC was an obvious example before and when he first took over listened to completely the wrong people like Roddy and the guy from the Trust who told him not to just let it go into admin and start again.

Jenkins and his posse arnt capable of running a gangbang in a brothel. You just have to look at his/their achievements while they have been at the helm and that in each one of them we have gone majorly backwards. League positions have worsened and crowds have dwindled. It doesnt take a rocket scientist with a degree to work out the reason that the old B*****d has to keep delving into his pockets is through complete mismanagement. Crowds are down probably around on average 3500 to what they have been and should be. That alone is amounting to a loss of over 1million quid. But hey, get behind the team you c**ts and go along with whatever bulls**t they fob you off with and worst of it is some of you stupid fans will still be there to clap and bow down to them.

Tell you something, if Ward, Abbott or Kavanagh had done similar, there'd have been uproar!

Astonishing that a Manager can take massive pet because someone dare question wether our campaign is in danger of derailing. That's what fans do when bad runs happen, it's in footballs nature!

The demanding of contact details and sorting a meeting out was absolutely pathetic IMO - And I'm not just saying that as I'm not a fan!

Wants to concentrate on some due diligence on his tactics before he starts having a go at folk who pay his wages!

The best manager that we have had in an age, he isn't perfect and is capable of making mistakes due to the players he has rather than the ones he wants but if he wasn't here the club would be left with miles better players than what he received from Kavanagh.

Not Keith's finest hour.
I absolutely hated Greg Abbott and used to listen to his interviews after the game and think 'what an idiot', but he could have given the greatest speech in history and I still would have thought that.
Can't really fully explain why I thought that, but I really did not like the man.
Keith certainly talks a lot of bollocks after the games, but as we have been doing well, I don't really care.

I think we'd all appreciate and respect him a bit more if he just said :

"Today was unacceptable, the last few performances have been below par and I'm going to get it sorted out"

I've been going to BP since 1985, in that time we've had 20 permanent managers (I think - depending on Mincher, Knighton/Wilkes etc) - I'd put Curle in the top 4 with Wadsworth, Day, and Simpson - I'm not saying he's acted correctly here, but I just wondered why you said you're "not a fan"? Genuine question.

As for the bit about "astonishing a manager can take a massive pet" - are you familiar with the work of Ferguson, Dalglish, Mourinho, Guardiola, Wenger in press conferences.... some of them in just the last 12 months?
