For the first time in a long time I came away from Brunton Park having actually enjoyed watching a game of football rather than being there out of blind loyalty!!!

I honestly believe we will destroy teams in our league if we can maintain that level of performance, a few players tonight looked real quality footballer which we have lacked for 3-5 years,

Unfortunately and I don't like to criticise a local lad but Rigg just looked like a Sunday league player tonight, unfit, first touch awful...no sniff of goal, same tbh with Wyke. Hopefully they will grow into the season and start to build some confidence,

To me the largest positive is that we seem to be creating a way of playing and a identity, and yes it won't work every game for 90mins and players will make mistakes but it's league two for heavens sake, even tonight when a couple of mistakes I still appalled do the fact we weren't just hoofing in and running like headless chickens like the previous 6 years!!!!!!

I am hoping KC is following Shrewsburys' game plan of filling the team with players used to this level plus a bit of flair and experience at a higher level.

Well 'Bluesmad' I was/am very much part of the 'Curle Out' Brigade. but I have absolutely no hesitation in giving him a mighty 'thumbs up' this evening. There were a lot of excellent performances despite the 'tinkering' selections once again. I suppose it could have been different if they had scored in the first few minutes as they seemed to be all over us.
Whether the 'tinkering' will be good for the entire season then we will have to wait and see, as I'm not a fan, however it worked fine tonight and I'm already looking forward to Saturday.

I've never been a big fan of Curle been told a lot of negative stuff from within the club, but he's turning me round the way we played tonight was fantastic we were organised and fluid at the same time, the football was a joy and the signs of a team were there, I really hope this isn't just a one off.

Was worth the 150 mile round trip in a Suzuki jimmy set off at 5 and got back at midnight.The team played like winners tonight.

Excellent game all round, both teams trying to pass the ball around. We do look wide open at times playing three at the back and it can cause ourselves problems. Whether we try to play the same style once we've suffered two or three defeats remains to be seen.

I thought Hery was particularly impressive, I like how he has the flair but can dig in also. There were a few tiring bodies out there towards 90 mins and I must admit Chesterfield seemed to step up a gear with quick fluid passing and thought they would go on to win until the sending-off. After that it looked like they were playing for pens. Jay O'Shea looked a tidy player and I remember we were in for him when he was still playing in Ireland but went elsewhere.

Jabo turned the game for me and showed Wyke what a proper Centre-Forward can do, first we've had of his ilk since Andy Preece I was reminded at the game. I must have seen more football played in this game than I saw the whole of last season, hell even two seasons.

I did think we weren't passing the ball about quickly enough against ten men but once we started doing so it was great to watch as last season we could hardly retain possession for more than three passes. At times you couldn't tell that either team were a division apart from the other.

Jabo was telling Osei to hold the ball and calm it down at the end of the game when the lad decided to go solo,took his man on and curl it into the top corner, what a strike! Some excellent crosses for the first two goals from Osei and Grainger too.

West Ham Away in the next round (if they are in the draw having been in Europe) and a last chance to get to Upton Park before they move.

If performances like this keep up CCU will be taking KC for a cheeky nando's sometime soon.

Best player on the pitch for me was their goalkeeper. As far as I can recall, every single one of Grainger's free kicks were well struck, and against a lot of League Two goalkeepers, would have gone in.

To put a dampener on it, I heard some fans boo Curle as he went down the tunnel. Like or loath the man, his team played very well tonight, and deserve credit for that.

Great game to watch, 2teams willing to play, took my son to his first match and he enjoyed it. Wouldn't do it last season, he'd have been on the phone to child line afterwards.
How we didn't concede in the first 10 minutes I don't know, it pinged around the six yard box god knows how many times, some great blocking and let's not forget Gillespies finger tip save.
After the frantic start we joined in the game and looked decent without quite creating an opening.
The goals were class for both teams. I thought our defence were pulled apart by dribbling runs by their 10 , their 4 seemed to flop down with a gust of wind. The sending off cost it for them we were tired by the end Hery and Rigg were passengers last 10 of extra time.
I thought Rigg and brough were poor. Impressed with McQueen.
Oh and Ibere is a beast, like a mobile Pericard.

It was a cracking match, both sides tried to play slick, passing football and it was a joy to watch. This passing the ball out of defence will be a bit heart-stopping on occasions mind but you've got to admire KC for wanting to do it. One thing I did find funny was some fans around me screaming for them to hump it forward at every
opportunity. We've been crying out for the ball to be played on the deck for years now and some folks thought we weren't getting it forward quick enough, how ironic.
Could I just say to all you 'boycotters' who don't want to line JN and AJs' pockets, these players wages need paying. Regardless of what you think of the goings on
at the top of the club the manager and his staff have worked hard to build a squad of players who actually seem to want to play for us and to succeed for us, the least
we can do is go down to BP and give them our support.
