Would be good if we could get a couple of main signings done early maybe encourage others if they of desired quality

We seem to manage to keep quiet about signings till they are done these days unlike other regimes we have had

Wouldn't be surprised if we took another on loan from Newcastle either

Kennedy signing would be a good start

Up The Blues

If the 2 potential signings had some skill and pace it would be good.

I'm guessing one will be George Waring

I thought Waring was very average when he was here but looking at his career to date, he actually has a better record than Wyke did when he signed for us. Prior to joining in January, Waring had started 25 league games and scored 7 goals. When Wyke joined in January 2015, he'd started 57 league games and scored 10 goals. Waring is two years younger than Wyke so I could see some merit in giving him a year to prove himself here. He's played far fewer games than Wyke had at the same age so needs time to settle at a club. I'd be very disappointed if we signed him as our main striker but would certainly be a 'project' for Curle to work with.

to be fair Waring didnt get much of chance he was thrust into a team with no confidence and expected to do well, I thought he had quite a few good games especially hartlepool, would I take him as our main striker no, but I would still have him at the club

I've got a feeling you lot are on a wind up about George Warings ability here, He was worse than Mark Beck by some way.

I'm all for giving young players time to develop as its how lower league teams like us make money , but not warring as although they were very small glimpses of abillity, Even mark beck had more at a younger age and he wasn't good enough.

Although warring is an example of what's wrong with premier league academies, they keep young players for far too long in under 23 teams etc and when they finally get released they have wasted 5 years of their career.ln which they should have been using to develop.

Could also be Pawel Abbott.

I wouldn't rule that one out after he was spotted looking at houses on Warwick Road last week.

He certainly didn't show his ability here but then he has scored goals previously at a higher level. The same goes for Beck because he scored goals in League One. Beck clearly isn't up to standard, so stats can be both indicative and deceiving. Waring would be one for Curle's development squad like Nabi.

He score 6 in 30 games at league 1 level, 0 in 23 at league 2 level. I'm afraid he is Conference level at best and thats if he doesn't come up against a big defender who would just bully him easily.

If you read what KC said you'd know we missed out on various targets this week, 2 of them were players I had been told were going to sign.

Be patient, plenty being spoken to and I'm sure there'll be news shortly on new blood coming into the club.

Reading the various reports, we've missed out on at least 7 players already. How many of these were major targets? Are we onto the second tier now because of this? Interesting June ahead...

I heard we were after David Mirfin (centre half) who played 37 games for Scunny last season. He signed for Mansfield. :(
