So Gibbens looks like he has laid a path towards a parting of ways with Curle with their review of the future. This I believe will lead to a mutually agreeable parting of ways. Curle will leave within a decent record and CUFC bring in a lower maintenance manager...with less baggage. My vote would be big Jim Bentley at Morecambe to replace Curle

Halpin's isn't saying that the Club will get rid of Curle. He is merely saying that the current situation probably won't last the season. Curle is free to talk to other clubs if approached. He wants the Club to show 'ambition' yet he has been presented with a budget which although it is the maximum under the protocol it is still less than he had to spend last season. Obviously 'investment' could change the picture so preliminary talks have started regarding a contract extension but they won't go anywhere unless there is some additional money in the equation. Hence the suggestion of a mutual parting of the ways in due course.

Talking about who we should replace Keith with before a ball is kicked is surely being a little bit hasty though.
Just thought someone had heard rumblings.

He's said the ambitions of the owners are 12th an he wants to finish higher so he won't stay with owners that have such a low ambition

Curle would have left already if was going to!
You can't allow a manager to deal with out-of-contract players and also brief the squad on next season (also let's not forget transfer negotiations) and be thinking about sacking him.
I understand a path laid out if he were to be sacked before Christmas but I'd take Curle right now for sure - at least until his contract is up at the end of next season.
People like Bentley are good options if we want to just become an average League 2 side... isn't that what Curle has brought us above?
Just give the man this summer and see how we do for the first half of next season. Clibbens should be focusing on his staring competitions with some fans in the Paddock after a defeat...
