Carlisle United Yorkshire Branch wrote: I would just like to point out that I have been very worried because we have signed no flipping players and it is nearly halfway through my the damn summer! Everyone is leaving which is fine but signing no players yet, a joke! Everyone else is and we are not! There is no excuse of losing players to other teams and not going for others! No excuse for 'no need to panic' or 'be patient' from blabbermouth Nigel Clibbens! There is a damn reason to panic, last time under clueless Kavanagh we never signed any players until around just a few days after this time of the month, and guess what, we nearly went out the football league because all we bought in was crap players who couldn't play! It also panics me about the financial position of the club if we are signing no players and I also believe at this moment in time we will finish somewhere in bottom half unless we hurry up and sign some class players! Another issue but no-where near as bad is friendlies and family fun day, we need the info for that soon as well, the club is as mute as a swan because what do we know? Nothing!!!!!!!!
get a grip.......there wont be much happening until EWM have got a sharehold within the club and sent Nixon packing.
Theres going to be some very disappointed people around come July 31st methinks
Aye, you and your mates, if ya have any?!? seriously, why the loan for the sake of being a shirt sponser?
The loan is nothing to do with the sponsorship deals.
The loan came about because as Mullen will tell you Jenkins chased Day for 3 months to help him out till he got fed up of it and just wanted him off his back and if you look at the EWM accounts they have more cash slushing around than they know what to do with.
So having got Jenkins to put the house deeds on the line as security they cant lose because if it Jenkins and co blow the cash in 12 months and it goes tits up they acquire the club for a million quid a damm site less than we know it would take if you tried to do it by making an offer.
The big mistake Jenkins has made is that he thinks PD has done it because he he thinks he is a mate or a fan which clearly we now know he isnt and his involvement has only ever been because he sees it as a good thing for his company [ read the times interview ]after all that million quid would hardly be earning him a fortune in interest would it ? and then look at some of the acquisitions EWM have made since he took it back as a private family owned company some of them have been deals that have twisted the knife into several companies in a way that backs them into a corner with no where to go and that is exactly what i can see he has in mind for CUFC unless of course Jenkins pops his clogs first in which case i wouldn't mind betting the loan deal gives him first dibs on AW.s shares in exchange for paying off a bit of the Pioneer debt.
So yes i think i think EWM will end up owning the club but not in the way some of you seem to be thinking and certainly not at the end of next month.
And if you ask me what their long term plan would be my opinion would be that they will run and fund the club as a subsidiary of EWM and fund it effectively from their tax bill [ as happens with say the likes of Hemmings at Preston } get them into the championship and then sell to first foreign idiot who comes along with 20 million.to burn.
